  • We did a tasting here at the end of the day and really enjoyed it. Staff was professional and knowledgable about their products. We were a bit tipsy by then so I can't remember much else. Nice atmosph...  more »
  • Great wine selections and very hospitable. A must visit for a Long Island wine tour. Our favorite was the reserve merlot and the sparkling cuvée!

  • My wife and I went here for our anniversary and were greeted with a happy anniversary and friendly staff, very peaceful, beautiful and pleasant atmosphere with beautiful scenery. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone and believe us we have. Thank you to all the staff.
  • This was the biggest vineyards of all the four places we visited in Long Island, with 200 acres. As soon as we drove up, I could tell it had a lot of land. they had nice wooden structure, with outdoor seating to the left of it, surrounded by green vineyards. When we walked in, I could tell this was a grand place, both in space and amount of things they had in there. And with lots of gifts, snacks, wines, and decorations, it still had enough space to walk around. This was really good because if the tasting area was too busy or too crowded, you can just walk around and check out the merchandise. A female staff greeted us with a nice smile at the tasting counter. She showed us the wine tasting menu which had three options, based on which kind of wines you wanted to try (price ranging from $12 to $25). We just wanted to try couple of specific wines, so we didn't select any wine tasting menu. (if you are buying a bottle of two of the specific wine you tasted, the tasting is free) We really, really liked their "Early Wine" - it was sweet and a bit bubbly. Outside food is not permitted here, as most others. The difference is that they offer lots of food options here that you can buy, which was very convenient. They had cheese, charcuterie, chips, cookies, pop corn, etc. They also offered non-alcoholic beverage like water and iced tea as well, which was very thoughtful for the customers who makes this a fun family event and brings their children. Read my full review of this winery and wines on my food blog, foodlovergirl.
  • The bartender was very nice! Loved their wine -- we especially liked the Early wine which is a Chardonnay that is harvested early and is sweeter than a Chardonnay normally is. It's fantastic. I recommend stopping here to try some of their wine.
  • This was my first time visiting Macari and I was quite disappointed. We had a reservation, so I assumed we would be greeted by a host/hostess/server or somebody and taken to a table, as had been done with the other vineyards we visited. But there was no one around, so we went up the bar and told the barman the name on the reservation - he looked it up and confirmed our reservation but he did not escort us to a table or a sitting area or get a host/server to do it. He just began the pouring process and we had to do it at the bar. As we were leaving we saw tables and chairs which other guests were sitting on, so we didn't understand why we weren't taken to one of them. It shouldn't be up to the guests to ask or inquire about sitting down. When we first arrived, we didn't actually even know if there were seating arrangements because we didn't see them, only the bar, so we didn't even know if there was seating. And it should not be up to us to ask. For me, it's all about the overall experience when I go out to dine or to something like this, so this was very disappointing. For the price charged, guests should be escorted to a seating area to enjoy their wines or at least told about where we could seat and have the wines brought to us. We were made to think that we had to have our experience standing at the bar. If we had been made to feel more welcome and had a more relaxing experience tasting our wine, we would have been more apt to make a purchase of a bottle or two, as we had done earlier in the day at another vineyard that gave us a more welcoming and relaxing experience. We will not be returning.
  • Beautiful large catering area and small outdoor sipping spot. I’d recommend buying some chips and artichoke pesto dip, and getting a bottle of merlot for the outside. We didn’t do the tasting here because we had drank too much already, but there were enough bar areas to keep people happy with flowing wine.
