  • Very quiet even when lots of people fishing off the pier. Beautiful location to enjoy the quietness. We have been a few times and keep going back. There are restaurants outside the Campground which we...  more »

  • The park is nice but at least Catfish Cove camping area is dirty! As if there was no camp host or maintenance crew. There was large trash in the firepit and small trash all around camp. The restrooms and showers were not properly clean, just a quick 2 minute wipe. It was the sort of thing you see at a FREE campground. I have stayed in 4 other Texas State park and they were VERY clean. Hope they improve cause the place is nice.
  • People leave trash thrown around but was still very clean. Simple to navigate. Lots of bank fishing when not too busy. But great for kayak's and boats.
  • 20171228- First time here for overnighting, but did stop last year on my December drive down from League City and visit the bird blind, CCC structures, and check for the cost for camping. The ranger told me that there was only three sites with electricity left. I said that it is probably due to Goose Island state park being closed from hurricane Harvey damage and she shook her head yes. The campsite has a hot shower but it is one hundred plus yards away. See photo showing the rear lift gate of my blue van.
  • Beautiful! Park rangers super caring and helpful. Was there to help family in the wake of Hurricane Harvey. Great care and service was offered to my family who were displaced.
  • One of the prettiest State Parks we have visited. Restrooms and camp stress were clean. The pier is awsome with plenty of room. Deer and rabbits are easily seen throughout the park. There is kayak rental through your smart phone and the lake is huge.
