  • In a rare occasion, this normally barren mountain erupted with beautiful wild flowers, creating impressive palette of colors on the mountain sides. Picture is worth a thousand words but it can't describe how amazing it is to drive along the scenic route along the gorgeous mountain side full of wildflowers! Note that there will be no cell service, and no amenities in there! Fill the tank at the closest gas stations (about 50 miles away) before entering the windy road. Also, the roads to Soda Lake are unpaved and can be muddy when wet.
  • Amazing wildflowers in Spring, especially during a superbloom. A fantastic place to be isolated any other time of year if you are looking to get away. Be warned - restrooms are few - only two I have seen in the whole valley are located at the visitor's center.
  • Visited this place during the super bloom and it was stunning. Some of the roads will become inaccessible when wet so check the weather before visiting. Also the flowers in the pictures are dependent on season and rain. Don't expect to go here after a few weeks of hot dry weather and find fields of wild flowers.
  • Went here for the super bloom last weekend and cannot recommend this place highly enough. The flowers are so so incredible. Check out Soda Lake and any of the trails into the mountains to the east. Also, be aware that there is no cell coverage in the area and some of the dirt roads are rough. Make sure to bring a spare tire!
  • Visit here for the super bloom. I must say soo many flowers. It is nice weather have this as a national monument. California continue protecting our beautiful treasures like this one.
