  • Great little hidden gem. Staying in marathon for two nights and not really having any plans. We stumbled upon this great beach. It's not the biggest beach but it is clean and quiet and most of all it'...  read more »

  • We went there twice during our time in marathon. It's a great beach right on the keys. We went during a non-peak time, but I could see parking being difficult when the keys are busy.
  • Awesome spot to take my dog. The beach is a tad bit small compared to other beaches, but in all reality it's so cozy you won't even walk away feeling unfulfilled. People were very nice too. Was a nice stop before driving back home.
  • We spent a few days here and then a day at Bahia Honda State Park which back in the '90s was voted one of America's best beaches. Bahia Honda was absolutely beautiful, but we both preferred Sombrero Beach to Bahia Honda. Sombrero has a beautiful beach, plenty of palms to catch some shade under if need, clean facilities, and wonderful grounds including sand volleyball areas and picnic areas for grilling and relaxing. The city of Marathon has done a fantastic job here.
  • Hard to review the beach without reviewing the people at the beach. When we went there were multiple parties playing music loudly, and some with questionable lyrics. Water was very cloudy the day we went so snorkeling was a no go. The area leading to the beach had a park that was very nice though.
  • Nice, clean beach off the beaten path. Plenty of parking and best of all it is free!!! A nice playground to go have lunch at and take the kids to when they want a bit of a break from the ocean and sand.
  • It's okay, the beach is very small and the water is mostly sea grass, but the water is nice and calm, there are plenty of shady spots to set up at and it's right next to a very nice park with lots of covered picnic areas, gazebos, clean bathrooms, and a big playground perfect for really little kids and big kids. There's also a couple volleyball courts.
