  • Great aquarium, not so large you get exhausted - touch tanks which I love, great gift shop, a theater inside for learning more on what you're seeing, etc. I could have sat all day watching the otters ...  more »
  • A pretty good aquarium. Very large tank with lots of sharks. $10 a person but if you already have a zoo membership at a participating reciprocal zoo you can get in for half price. They have a stingray...  more »

  • I was not expecting this place to be as nice as it was. Very nice interactive exhibits. The place looks newly renovated. We really enjoyed the historical aspect of everything that they managed to work in with the fish and other animals. Clean, relaxing environment. Lots of things for younger kids to do as well. They have an entire outdoor play area made of chopped down trees. It was very cute.
  • This is a really nice, small- to mid-sized aquarium. Though it lacks exhibits of larger sea mammals like dolphins or seals like in Chicago or Baltimore, it has a large central tank with native NC fish species and sharks, has numerous smaller aquatic exhibits of various NC fish and mammal habitats, has a sea otter tank, and even has a sea turtle rehab center where they treat around 600+ injured sea turtles each year for release back into the ocean. It is plenty engaging for adults and children and the staff is friendly.
  • Wonderful aquarium. Well maintained, clean and tons of educational displays. The touch screens were all working and updated. Shark tank was AMAZING! my husbands favorite part. The hands on part was great, animals were active and fun. Watching the feeding was very educational and the employee were patient and informative to my five year old. she loved getting to gently touch the rays. The otters were extremely active and fun to watch. We look forward to visiting again.
  • Wonderful Aquarium! It is small but very interesting and entertaining! We enjoyed watching the staff feed the Rays. The river otters were so cute!
  • This place exceeded our expectations! We began our adventure at the amphibian and reptile exhibits; to include an albino alligator! Then we proceeded to the aquarium; there was staff everywhere to guide and provide you with educational information. The aquarium also had petting ponds where you could touch all sorts of sea life like stingrays! Once outside, we took a walk around the garden where we encountered huge animatronic dinosaurs! To end, we went into the Butterfly Bungalow where there were hundreds of free-flying exotic butterflies!
