An ideal spot for a relaxing stroll, Manhattan Beach Pier boasts superb views and a relaxed atmosphere. The structure stretches 283 m (928 ft) with a small aquarium marking the end. A walk down the pier reveals an array of artists, photographers, and fishermen. Keen anglers should bring their rod along to enjoy guitarfish, croakers, small rays, and superb surfperch fishing. Below the pier, watch for surfers riding the waves: this spot played an important role in the history of the sport and has been popular with its proponents since the 1940s. Gorgeous location with amazing views of the beach, rolling hills to the South and mountains to the north. You can also spy a shipping vessel or two. There are beaches along the piers for you to sit down, either by yourself or with one other person, and admire the view. Great place for people-watching as well, or to read a book without getting sandy. There is a good mix of restaurants nearby.
Pretty, historical pier with great views of the ocean. A short hop from LAX (and totally do-able if you're on a medium-to-long layover. We came here to walk around and get out of the airport for a bit. The aquarium wasn't open, but we watched several locals fish. Nicely decorated for Christmas. Too cute!
Enjoy a nice stroll down to the pier as you take in sights of our beautiful Southern California shores. While there, you can grab a snack, look over the waters, and/or visit the quaint aquarium. Volunteers are sometimes on hand with information about the marine life able to viewed at this treasure of the Manhattan Beach Pier.
This is my happy place!!! I come here all the time! Views are beautiful! Lots of bars, restaurants, and small shops/boutiques. You can either sit or walk on the sand. There’s the strand which is a walking path along the beach that goes from Venice beach all the way to Redondo Beach with views of beautiful houses and the beach view. I always grab a slice of pizza, can of soda, and walk down to the beach to watch the sunset with my friend. Definitely recommend this as one of your stops during your trip to LA. If you live out here, make it your Saturday plans :)
I enjoyed the day I spent with my cousins by Manhattan beach. The ocean view was refreshing, and walking around the streets was so much fun. There were numerous clothing boutiques to see and all kinds of foods and restaurants to visit. A cozy, beautiful and clean town to visit.
