An ideal spot for a relaxing stroll, Manhattan Beach Pier boasts superb views and a relaxed atmosphere. The structure stretches 283 m (928 ft) with a small aquarium marking the end. A walk down the pier reveals an array of artists, photographers, and fishermen. Keen anglers should bring their rod along to enjoy guitarfish, croakers, small rays, and superb surfperch fishing. Below the pier, watch for surfers riding the waves: this spot played an important role in the history of the sport and has been popular with its proponents since the 1940s. • My coworker and I took a late night walk downtown since we'd spent the past two days inside a hotel for our conference. It was a good walk and relaxing view.
  • Excellent place for families!! Love it! Spend the day and visit all the little shops around the area.

  • Clean and interesting pier with small aquarium for kids to visit and touch small tide pool animals at the end of the pier. A small aquarium that takes about 10 minutes to explore but interesting enough. Small cafe and restroom also available at this structure at the end of the pier. Fishing rule is stricter than other piers I've been. No chumming and no fish cleaning allowed. But that may make this pier look cleaner than other piers as well. This beach is not far from LAX so you can see airplanes taking off every few minutes toward the north but not too close that you can hear them. A lot of bikes with bike lanes. The beach has plenty of volleyball nets for those who like to play. Restroom is clean and has high and low shower to wash off sand and saltwater before going back to your car. Metered parking available.
  • Beautiful!!! I love the views around sun down. It was my first time visiting but will not be my last! The homes nearby are nice. This is a upscale area with plenty of bars and great shops nearby. I would recommend anyone visiting LA for the first time to go here and stop, look and listen to the earth as it cleans your soul with beautiful images. Man I miss it!
  • Manhattan Beach Pier is always a chill visit with a lively atmosphere. Lots of activity, but nothing overwhelming. It's one of the cleanest beaches you'll find. It's meticulously maintained which sets the bar for other LA beaches. You get to enjoy beautiful sunsets/sunrises, below the pier shots, a relaxing walk to the sound of the waves and the large selection of nearby restaurants, shops and boutiques. There's plenty of small public parking lots scattered throughout the nearby area with meters that also take cards. The views are amazing and there are photo opportunities galore.
  • This is an amazing beach, every time I go here its never too crowded the, sand is beautiful and the waves are perfect for swiming, I really enjoy my time when I arrive at this beach. The Pier is very pleasant place to walk around I was even able to spot sting rays, seals, and a beautiful school of fish. I would recommend it to any one to come to this beach.
  • Wow I was impressed, I have to say THE CITY OF MANHATTAN BEACH hats off. Clean safe beach. The shops and the restaurants are nice and decent priced. This was my first time to Manhattan Beach and I was alone however I will be coming back this beach is romantic fun friendly safe and a family hot spot. I would recommend this beach to anyone and their family if you have a layover at LAX 15 min drive and great food. I would have liked to have stayed till sunset but maybe next time. I also was at an event hosted by Oprah Winfrey the day before and the catering was done by a local restaurant Lemonade from Manhattan Beach and was delicious. I give five stars to Manhattan Beach.
