  • This park is beautiful, a true gem in the Hartford Area. So much to see and to do, it's well kept and you can tell the entrance fee of 5$ is used well. I do however have a problem with this parks hours. Not opening until 9:30 am!?!? That's. Awful as a photographer this park should definitely be open for people to watch the sunrise. And I wish it was open longer than after sunset. The Gardens would look incredible with nice light after dark.
  • Always liked this spot to relax and walk around.. great spot for picnics or big family gatherings if you lack space at your house
  • If you haven't done anything all summer must talk a walk at this park. Great for romantic walks to spending quality with the family. Beautiful place
  • Positives: Beautiful, privately-funded park to walk around, picnic, get married, play frisbee-golf & tennis. Different themed gardens (Oriental, Italian, English). You can walk on the paved areas or there are foot paths thru the woods. There's an aviary, & a cabin that can be rented for events like wedding receptions. You can just walk in, it's not fenced, but be careful where you park that you don't get towed. (I'd love to live in the apartments across the street! I assume you can't park there if you don't live there.) Negatives: The entry fee of $5 is a bit steep if you want to go frequently but just want to stay for a short time, but you can get a season pass (Manchester residents: $60; $35 for seniors). They don't prorate the pass no matter how far into the season it is! They don't open early enough to use it to walk or jog in the cooler morning hours in the summer (unless you can just walk in). The season is short, & despite having fantastic sledding hills, it's not open in the winter, except for events (& again, you can just walk in).
  • Second time visit and I have to say it's absolutely amazing... Great scenery
