  • Pretty good panorama view if you can't or don't want to do any hikes. This is helpful if you are a photographer and have a lot of equipment to carry. I personally don't care too much about photographing here because the peaks are too spread out and uniform. You are too far away to capture the uniqueness of the individual peaks. It's a view best enjoyed in person.
  • If you want to see the Milky Way, just go here. I have looked at light pollution charts and plotted the best places in Southern CA to go. Went there at a new moon and saw the Milky Way, but none compare to this vista. The higher elevation cuts through the atmosphere at lower elevations and allows for spectacular star gazing. Just be prepared to turn your lights off and not disrupt others' viewing pleasure.
  • Worth the drive for sure. I was there just past sunset and it was stunning. Another photographer told me I should see it at first light if I REALLY wanted to be impressed. Next time.
  • Great views of the Minarets, mts Ritter and Banner. Worth the side trip if your nearby
  • Great views, and a jumping-off point for many excellent hikes.
