We buy Ribeye steaks from Benton's. They are generally at least $2.00 per pound less than Kroger and other grocery stores. Their employees will cut them to the thickness you want and they are fantasti... read more »
This place is the best place in the world to buy country ham! They also have frozen barbeque pork that is really delicious. I really recommend that you stop by and pick up something.
We have eaten at several restaurants in Chattanooga that serve Benton's Bacon (The Blue Plate is one) and I always thought it was great bacon. Drove up to Madisonville to see if we could get some and ... read more »
Excellent bacon! Yes, it is different than store-bought...this bacon is slowly cured and smoked with a singular, rich depth of hickory and bacon flavor. I cooked it as Allan suggests, in my iron skillet out-of-doors, over lump charcoal fire...fantastic. Truly a cut above other 'premium' bacons I've sampled. Looking forward to visiting the shop on my next road trip south, on a quest for Tennessee Country Ham! (I have the tee shirt).
I ordered 3 each of the salted smoked hams. Two for friends and one for ourselves. UPS left it at our front gate in the grass. It was covered with fire ants which I washed off. Overall quality of this $65 ham wasn't great at all. It smelt bad when we sliced some off to fry down as the directions that are enclosed tell you to do. I put it in the frig and tried to cut off some to put in a pot of beans. It just did not smell right so I used it for turtle bait in our pond. What a waste. Will not order another. Did they send me an old ham past its prime??I cant imagine with the countries economy that they are flying out the smoke house. I hope that my friends that I sent one to did not think that I was trying to poison them.
Stopped at Bentons on our return from Pigeon Forge. We purchased regular bacon, smoked bacon, hot sausage and a whole ham. Everything has been fantastic. The staff was very helpful while we there. Nothing fancy about the facility but the products they produce are. Will be making a road trip soon to stock the freezer.

I was excited to try this Bacon because of its history and reputation. However, to my sadness, it did not taste as Bacon I get fresh from the farm. Not only that the apartment smells terrible for more than 2 days despite using air freshener spray, solid air Freshner, air purifier machine, and did I mention I had a vent on high while I was cooking.Seems can't post if no stars! What happened!? Most likely the other products are cooked or smoked and would not have the same problem. All the Best!
I'm a bacon lover, I have friends who send me Bacon of the Month clubs, I tweet about bacon, I post about bacon. Yes, I have an obsession with bacon. This is hands down the WORST bacon I've EVER had in my life. It was so salty I had to spit it out. My boyfriend asked what I was doing when he saw me open the trash can and I said, "I'm throwing it out, it's awful." He asked, "How bad can it be?" As he look a piece off the plate and as he put a piece in his mouth, his face cringed, he spit it out and said, "Oh my God, that's just horrible." Yes, it's that bad. It's a mouth full of salt. My dad used to out of salt licks for the deer. I think I'll put this bacon out for them. Wouldn't be surprised however it they don't touch it.
