Where to stay in Madison

The university and state politics draw a constant stream of visitors to Madison, so you'll find a wide range of accommodations in the city. Numerous hotels circle the campus, and some of these overlook Lake Mendota. Moving onto the isthmus between Lake Mendota and Lake Monona, you'll find a handful of charming inns and bed and breakfasts, most of which offer panoramic views of the water. Areas south of Lake Monona feature national chain hotels and motels. These sit farther away from the action around campus and the State Capitol Building, but they can also offer water views and quiet settings near some of Madison's many parks.

  • This casino had a ton of new and shiny machines. I don't think I saw one old machine in there, however, these new machines come at a price. I spent quite a bit of money here over the course of 45 minutes and I didn't win a single dime. It looked like they had a food court of some kind, and the place in general was meticulously clean. Just don't go there expecting to win a little money.
  • I am not a gambler - even the light stuff...but my mom enjoys a bit of "slot" machine every now and again so we went. I had not been there, but for someone like me who doesn't like second-hand smoke, it's a fairly benign atmosphere. I blew a saw buck and sat down elsewhere and read until mom was done. I could see this being a bit more fun with a group.
  • An absolutely perfect example of why every business needs competition. This establishment is one of the worst run businesses I've ever seen. I wish Madison would allow another casino to enter the market and show these people how to do it. Free soda in a 6oz styrofoam cup and unprofessional employees are the staples in this place. I highly recommend taking your business elsewhere.
  • I mean, it has slots, so if you like slots, then you will like it....if it's not super crazy busy and you can get to a slot machine. It is 21+ now, which means no high school kids, but it also means drunken antics.
  • It is finally smoke free. About time!! Restaurant is average at best. Lots of new games to play. Typical casino except bingo style.
