  • Ok, so this isn't the Louvre, and as a consequence they do not have a large amount of well known artists in their displays,,,, but what they did have was very interesting, sometimes provocative, but a...  read more »
  • Unfortunately owned by the UW, system so that whole insular exclusivity thing going on. They only hire UW students and pay them with school credits. Becoming a member sort of pointless since you don't get any credit, or get listed on the site or anywhere. Still a fairly solid museum, a scattering of good paintings. Good classical music events. This city needs a non-UW museum.
  • The Chazen is a beautiful University Art Museum... The UW preserved the existing facility, then built one of equal size with more exciting and functional facilities connected by a sky-bridge. The collection, like many University collections, is eclectic. But it's a huge building, with a great diversity of art displayed well. Plus, since it is a public space, it plays host to lots of UW-sponsored activities... Monthly concerts of high calibre, movie series showings, lectures... It's a vital space, and fun to visit.
  • Went on thurs night. Nothing to do security guard about 6 hanging out at entry. As soon as we walked in, 1 followed us like a maniac. Felt uncomfortable, i came to enjoy art, not to talk to stupid security guards or followed by. Too casualy approached, wheres the professional receptionist? Kind of intimidating. U dont need 6 security gurds at one entrance area!!! Like u think we came to steal the art? Jeez!!
  • Great collection, some of the art is extremely obscene in my opinion, but there are really cool pieces too. The best thing is that it's free
  • A fantastic international collection of art. Free to enter, incredibly accessible, and wonderful staff.
