  • The Railroad Museum is fun. Make sure you get the extra pass to see the caboose and the outer building. They both have extras to offer. The main museum offers so much about Madison and Jefferson Count...  more »
  • The limited coverage of the railroad history in Madison was very informative and concise. Great for a brief overview.  more »
  • Interesting facts about the railroad in Madison. Especially interesting was the history of the Madison Incline - a very steep grade track which was the only way for trains to get in or out of Madison....  more »

  • Very interesting museum with great local information. 1895 train station is very cool. Very friendly folks at the History Center. The great thing this year is that it is FREE.
  • Terrific museum, wonderful for the whole family. Our children loved the hands on chidrens activity room and the adorable restored caboose, friendly staff ! Great deal free admission for all of 2017!
  • We love to visit during the Nights Before Christmas event and see the gingerbread houses made by the local school kids. There is a good deal of general history and a decent Civil War display, too. Local inventors and industry are also represented. And a complete cottage is on display indoors.
  • Absolutely wonderful people here. We had a great time talking with them about local history and their experiences in the area. I would recommend this to anyone visiting Madison.
  • Research library is awesome!
