John's Pass Village & Boardwalk, Madeira Beach

Must see · Pier / Boardwalk · Landmark
An early 20th-century fishing village-turned-tourist-attraction, John's Pass Village & Boardwalk connects the Gulf of Mexico with the Intracoastal Waterway, Tampa Bay, and Boca Ciega Bay. The town still supports a fishing industry. Fresh catches from the fishing fleet are served at many restaurants in the area. You'll see Jet Skis and parasails gliding across the surface of the water near a reconstructed pirate ship that rests in the harbor. Consider signing up for a dolphin-sighting tour to enjoy the antics of the attraction's most charming occupants. • Busy shopping/dining area with a boardwalk. If you walk along the boardwalk you can see Dolphins & birds. A number of local tours/rentals leave from this area during the day. Our oldest went...  more »
  • We arrived at about 11 and were able to shop for about 45 minutes before the crowds got uncomfortably large. Not many tourists wear masks in Florida, and I'd guess maybe 60-70% of shop owners did...  more »
  • The best thing about Johns Pass may be the pretty green water, sensing an inkling of the much larger NJ Boardwalk or watching the boats and birds; or Justin ensuring everyone wore their COVID masks...  more »

  • Fun place to go. There are lots of things to do and see here! Take a dolphin watching boat tour or be daring and try the Pirate Ship cruise! You can shop the many shops here, although some tend to be a bit pricey because after all, it's a tourist area. There's even a great spot to play old school arcade games and even a place to feed alligators and crocodiles! Awesome tourist attraction!
  • Great shops, restaurants and attractions! There's so much to do on John's Pass you can easily spend the entire day here. We grabbed souvenirs, lunch and candy while checking out events/attractions. Loved that it wasn't too far from our condo in Indian Rocks Beach and it wasn't overly packed like Pier 60.
  • Always one of the most fun places to visit when you're a tourist! Even us locals enjoy a visit to this fun and exciting area. I go here to buy all of my Hawaiian Shirts from Island Attitudes! You can get almost anything you could want here, even the best chocolate covered bacon you could ever have! Want a drink by the water? Well there are a large number of places to choose from! The choices are endless!
  • One of my favorite places to visit while vacationing in Florida. I always find something in the shops but mostly like to walk around to look & find a bite to eat. Theres also jet ski rentals & access to the beautiful white sand beach... HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!
  • Nice place to visit and walk around before or after dinner. Nothing special, most of the shops are touristy. Got frozen custard and it was way overpriced - $36 for the 4 of us. After dinner sat and watched the dolphins.
