John's Pass Village and Boardwalk, Madeira Beach
(4.1/5 based on 2,200+ reviews on the web)
An early 20th-century fishing village-turned-tourist-attraction, John's Pass Village and Boardwalk connects the Gulf of Mexico with the Intracoastal Waterway, Tampa Bay, and Boca Ciega Bay. The town still supports a fishing industry. Fresh catches from the fishing fleet are served at many restaurants in the area. You'll see Jet Skis and parasails gliding across the surface of the water near a reconstructed pirate ship that rests in the harbor. Consider signing up for a dolphin-sighting tour to enjoy the antics of the attraction's most charming occupants. • Quite a few interesting shops and restaurants and bars along the boardwalk. The parking deck is well needed and user friendly.

  • Relaxing atmosphere with some vintage style restaurants that give you a view of the ocean. On the negative side, over the years prices have skyrocketed, and it feels more touristy than it used to. 10 years ago it was more of a place for locals to go for food and drinks, maybe even ice cream or coffee at one of the locally owned diners. But things change. Although there is still a great pizza place located across the street kind of in the center of the area. Their white pizza is great!
  • We love going here. The shops have a perfect beachy feel. My kids like walking the boardwalk and getting ice cream! We highly recommend the salt water taffy as well. You get to see it pulled in the window. There are a lot of choices for restaurants most of which are seafood. We have sampled them all and haven't found one we don't like! You can also book jet ski rentals, boat trips, fishing trips, or other adventure voyages from the walk. Don't forget to visit the store where you can kiss a gator, my kid's favorite.
  • While we were here on vacation we came to johns pass. Parking was crowded. Took us 30 min to get a spot. Paid 4 bucks for the spot thinking this place was big and had lots to do. It didn't. But in all honesty it was a good place over all. Just parking was a pain.
  • We LOVE This place. Hooters has the best view of the pass! All kinds of shopping and views to be had. Stop and get some ice cream after dinner!
  • First time here and we enjoyed it. Loved all the little shops but not so much the restaurant's. A little but of everything all in one place.
