John's Pass Village and Boardwalk, Madeira Beach

Categories: Gift & Specialty Shops, Shopping
Inspirock Rating:
4.1/5 based on 2,200+ reviews on the web
An early 20th-century fishing village-turned-tourist-attraction, John's Pass Village and Boardwalk connects the Gulf of Mexico with the Intracoastal Waterway, Tampa Bay, and Boca Ciega Bay. The town still supports a fishing industry. Fresh catches from the fishing fleet are served at many restaurants in the area. You'll see Jet Skis and parasails gliding across the surface of the water near a reconstructed pirate ship that rests in the harbor. Consider signing up for a dolphin-sighting tour to enjoy the antics of the attraction's most charming occupants. • We have visited John's Pass 2 years in a row now. This place has a little something for everyone, shopping, eating, fishing, dolphin watch, the list goes on and on.
  • Mostly shopping. Some restaurants and can rent jet skies and parasail. We were hoping for more activities since we have teenage boys that aren't into shopping. Would be nice to have climbing walls, et...  read more »
  • This place has a little of everything. Most boat sightseeing cruises leave from here as well as jet ski rentals. There are shops of every kind. Specialty food and candy shops, restaurants, souvenirs a...  read more »
  • While we were here on vacation we came to johns pass. Parking was crowded. Took us 30 min to get a spot. Paid 4 bucks for the spot thinking this place was big and had lots to do. It didn't. But in all honesty it was a good place over all. Just parking was a pain.
  • My only complaint is all the smokers. No fault of their actual location but yuck! The stores were fun we enjoyed walking around and browsing. Being able to park at the beach and walk down to shop was great. This was excellent for my small family. We'll definitely be back.
  • This is one of our favorite places to just go "take a walk" around... especially with non-local friends or family who aren't familiar with our city. There's so many great shops and delicious restaurants. Kilwin's Ice Cream Shop is hands down our favorite!! The ONLY difficulty with this place is the horrible traffic congestion down the small roads and the constant lack of parking spots. The parking garage has alleviated "some" of that, but not everyone likes parking in a dark, hot parking garage.
  • I love coming to John's Pass to walk around and look through the shops. There's so many different shops, so many different cool local things you can find, and even good places to eat. There's even a good Winery that serves wine infused ice cream. Anytime someone comes to visit , I always take them here. This is a great place for both tourists and locals alike. And if there's not too much traffic in John's Pass, you can even usually see dolphins playing in the water off of the boardwalk. This is also an excellent place to rent jet skis , and I would recommend FlyN' High for jet skis.
  • Cool place to walk around and grab some drinks and bar food. Nothing special that i found in terms of fine dining, but maybe we missed it. The hut and hooters were two stops for drinks as they were both lively spots. Recommend stopping by, but parking does get full.
