(4.7/5 based on 600+ reviews on the web)
Experience American history along the Great Lakes by stepping into a recreation of the 18th-century French trading village at Colonial Michilimackinac. This Michigan state park is home to Fort Michilimackinac, a National Historic Landmark and open-air museum of the trading post that was built along the shore in 1715. Take a tour of this historical site, watch one of the reenactments that brings the old village to life--such as the 1770s' British occupation and the American Revolutionary War--and view collections of excavated objects from the region. You'll also find many hiking and biking trails nearby. • Went here as a kid, still found it interesting as an adult,y kids loved. Love the fudge, loved the view.
  • What a cool place to visit with kids. I went on a field trip with my son's class and had so much fun. There are workers in costume that offer so much information and are so willing to answer all the kids' questions. Definitely would go back. Admission was a little pricey.
  • Really cool view. Lots of things to see and explore. Yummy fudge. Was able to touch the Mackinac bridge
  • I prefer Michilimacinac to the fort on the island. It's a great place!! We went to "Fort Fright" this year, we're glad we did.
  • A good place to spend the day, well put together and informative. Enjoyed it much more than the island itself.
