Experience American history along the Great Lakes by stepping into a recreation of the 18th-century French trading village at Colonial Michilimackinac. This Michigan state park is home to Fort Michilimackinac, a National Historic Landmark and open-air museum of the trading post that was built along the shore in 1715. Take a tour of this historical site, watch one of the reenactments that brings the old village to life--such as the 1770s' British occupation and the American Revolutionary War--and view collections of excavated objects from the region. You'll also find many hiking and biking trails nearby. • What a cool place to visit with kids. I went on a field trip with my son's class and had so much fun. There are workers in costume that offer so much information and are so willing to answer all the kids' questions. Definitely would go back. Admission was a little pricey.
  • Very historic settlement in makinaw! The hole place is set to theme and you really feel like you have traveled back in time. It can be a bit pricy but if you are a history buff or a school looking for a good educational trip I would recommend this.
  • Beautiful views, nice shops. Knocked one star off cuz theres goose poo everywhere.
  • Staff was friendly and informative. We particularly enjoyed the underground archeological digs and artifacts. Also has one of the best views of Mackinac Bridge.
  • Great place for kids and adults. Lots to do and see. Beautiful views. Staff is outstanding
