  • The lighthouse is nicely placed for photos of it in front of Lake Michigan. There is easy parking and a nice walk too.
  • The beautiful lighthouse is breathtaking even more beautiful than pictured. The walk to the lighthouse is not for the faint-hearted, but oh so worth the walk. The shoreline, the park around the area o...  more »
  • A long walk from the campground, enjoyed walking up to the top of the lighthouse. Cost 5 per person to go to the top.

  • It's a 2 mile walk from the parking area to the lighthouse. If you have bicycles I suggest using them. Most of the walking is on sand covered asphalt because it's a path on the other side of the dunes. It closes at five in the fall so we had to hustle through the path and immediately climb up the lighthouse. Great workout that day. The lighthouse is pretty and to me it was worth it. To my husband it was not. It has great views! You can go on the outside balcony at the top. They have a small gift shop and everything is ran by volunteers. *fyi the beginning of the path starts at the other end of the campground area and there is a small sign. Nothing is marked well here at all!!!!
  • There is a 1.8 mile walk to the lighthouse, but the path was easy. There are lots of dunes on each side of the path. There is a short film before climbing the tower, and a few artifacts to see on the way up. The view from the tower is beautiful, and a sense of direction is written on the rail. It is one of the tallest lighthouses in MI. It was very windy when we were there.
  • Beautiful lighthouse which is open to the public. Volunteers are knowledgeable and friendly. Lighthouse is surrounded by many hiking trails through the sand dunes and surrounding forests.
  • Beautiful views from top of the lighthouse. The legacy of the house and inn keepers was very interesting. I loved the wooden planks all along the lighthouse as well to Lake Michigan it was fun see all the loving words written along the waters and you can even do your own memorial plank for $100.00. Again Beautiful A Must See !!
  • Literally one of the best lighthouses in Great Lakes area! The building itself is nice and tall and the scenery around is amazing
