  • We arrived just before sunset on a quiet Thursday evening. The gift shop was closed and the tours were over but we still wanted to enjoy the scenery. We decided to take a small fall hike in the park and the scenery was breathtaking. I can’t wait to come back and fully experience the farm but the park itself is a true gem.
  • Unfortunately, our stay occurred right after a tornado had touched down in the area. All hiking trails and some activities were shutdown. We plan to return after the trails are opened.....Hopefully this fall for a deeper exploration. Be sure to call ahead to find out times for the wagon tour ($3 pp) and house tour.
  • The free exhibit and gift shop is nice. If I lived in this area I would be buying a lot of my meat from the gift shop the price per pound is good. Check the tour schedule and plan your visit accordingly. The wagon farm tour looks like fun but we arrived as it was leaving the welcome center. Take advantage of the picnic tables for lunch
  • It was a beautiful place to take a walk. My son loved seeing the animals. They have a nice souvenir shop and a playground. We also take a drive around to see nature. Been there twice and will always come back.
  • Always a pleasure to visit this treasure of a place. The history alone is enticing enough. Whether you are interested in Native American lore, Louis Bromfield and his accomplishments, or the eerie legends surrounding the Ceely Rose murders, there is plenty to be gained by reading up on this historical landmark and visiting it's features. Aside from the history, there are many activities hosted at Malabar Farm such as guided tours, picnic days, barn visits with a small petting area, heritage day festivals and maple syrup festivals, sledding and snowshoeing in the winter, fishing, and loads of trails (both bridle and hiking) that will take you to a small waterfall and some caves. Although I've never attended, I believe there is also a monthly barn dance. Finally, there is Pugh cabin which my family recently rented out for Thanksgiving. The cabin itself was fantastic and hosted a large crowd. A huge fireplace kept the place warm and provided the perfect ambiance. While the outside patio was wet and we were unable to use it, in better conditions it would provide a fire pit and kettle for cooking and several picnic tables. All in all, Malabar Farm is a gem. I'm sure I've left out many amenities and activities, but it is worth the visit.
