Wildlife Area
Purportedly the first "cageless" animal park in the United States, the touring roads through Lion Country Safari weave among animals commonly found on African safari. After purchasing a ticket to the park, you'll be handed an audiotape or CD to play as a guided tour for your drive. It is important to drive slowly and keep doors and windows closed at all times. In the chimpanzee exhibit, chimps mimic their natural behavior by migrating from island to island within the park, and the exhibit are also used to research the primates' complex behavior. After the driving tour, the visit Safari World Ferris wheel, petting zoo, and rides. • This is a great place to see wild animals as close to their natural habitat as possible. The drive through takes about an hour. They also have a walk through area which the kids enjoyed. This place is...  more »
  • I went with my mother-in-law, wife, son and his wife, and my two grandsons. The drive through kept the two young boys interest for about half of the time. To be honest at 1 1/2 and 3 1/2 they are stil...  more »
  • Leave plenty of time to drive through the "Savannah." There is also a water play and game area in the rest of the park. Plan to make a day of it. Have fun!  more »
  • Lion Country Safari is a classic attraction that keeps getting better. The drive-through safari is unique and very interesting, with an informative CD for the drive, and the park around it has something for everyone. We really enjoyed feeding the giraffes and riding the camel. Bring bathing suits to cool off in the water park area. The prices of food in the park are similar to the prices at most attractions.
  • We absolutely love this place! We drive 1 1/2 hours just to go here. They always have some kind of deal going on as well. It is just an overall great experience for the family. The drive through safari is such an awesome experience, my son absolutely loves this place.
  • It was a great day overall, went around the safari twice, and saw all the walking exhibits. Most things are inclusive which is great. But one bad apple truly does ruin things. Rant- The 4 yr old wanted to ride the fun slide, but to our dismay she was a bit too short. Little did we know a 3 yr old of equal height was riding and had done so multiple times. We brought this to the attention of Carol and were quickly dismissed and told she couldn't ride by her and management. Way to ruin a little girl's day while blatantly bending rules for others.
  • It was my first time there and it was beautiful! I loved seeing all the different animals, they were so peaceful and at ease. I just wish it wasn't such a hot day that I could of walked around the walk-through more longer to see more of the beauty but overall I had a great time and would definitely go back!
  • Best animal encounter experience ever! Better than Animal Kingdom and the Miami Zoo. You really get the Safari experience without the stress of heat and uncomfortable seats. The soundtrack guide is available on your phone and you get to take great pictures. The park is also very interactive and shaded. Great price too and includes all the rides and experiences. Didn't give 5 starts because of how limited the petting zoo was and how limited the food options were.
