  • If you go back in past the first mile, you see few people. If you go in past the first two miles, even fewer. Past the first 3 miles you may be one of two or three people in the space. Excellent red r...  more »
  • This is a site to see and visit. The backbone is big and long and seem to go on forever. It is a amazing thing to see in person.
  • Definitely more of a leisure trail than a "hike" but I LOVE this place; I've made sure to go every season and it's ALWAYS beautiful! Not a lot of shade available so be generous with the sunscreen and ...  more »

  • I'm new to Loveland and love to trail run. I was excited to find this place. Great views, established trails and variety of terrain. Good place for a run, mountain bike ride, or just a walk.
  • Good parking. Wonderful views of the rock formations, mountains and a lot of great views of the valleys. Decent choices of hiking trails that go for several miles pretty much parallel to each other along the rock formations and connect to each other at several points.
  • Decent amount of parking. Restrooms are at trail head. Hiking this trail is fairly easy and provides some good views. Mountain biking the trail is fun but becomes really rough in portions. Casual riders will find some areas impassable. Fun in both snow and sunshine, hard going when trail is muddy and melting.
  • Great place for a hike. Go early as there's not a lot of shade and it will get hot. After the 2nd mile there's a significant rise to climb, but once over that the views are amazing.
  • This was a beautiful hike. As a relatively new hiker, I found this hike easy but still a challenge at some points. Great views even from the trail head! The keyhole in Devil's Backbone is a great sight to see. There isn't much shade so bring a lot of water and sunscreen or a hat. And there were sunflowers EVERYWHERE! My favorite.
