The Historical Loveland Castle & Museum

Chateau Laroche was built as an expression and reminder of the simple strength and rugged grandeur of the mighty men who lived when Knighthood was in flower.

It was their knightly zeal for honor, valor and manly purity that lifted mankind out of the moral midnight of the dark ages and started it towards the gray dawn of human hope.

Present human decadence proves a need for similar action.

Already the ancient organization of Knights have been re-activated to save society.

Any man of high ideas who wishes to help save civilization is invited to become a member of the Knights of the Golden Trail, whose only vows are the Ten Commandments.

Chateau Laroche is the World headquarters of this organization, started in 1927.

  • The quirky owner of this castle built it, rock by rock, on the banks of the Little Miami. Be sure to watch the video upstairs, where it tells the history of the castle and the man who built it (he die...  more »
  • We went here as we were just hanging about one fine Saturday afternoon. Boy it was fun! As it is winter we didn’t get to see the garden in all its summer glory but the rest was quite interesting. One ...  more »

  • We loved exploring this old castle. The kids enjoyed it and the history is pretty interesting. Make sure you check out the video on the second floor. It is amazing how it was made. Scenic views from the second floor and you are able to rent it for private occasions. Lots of Weddings there.I would not sugfest bringing strollers. Be prepared to carry very young ones up and down steep twisty concrete steps.
  • Amazing place to visit! Great staff very helpful and knowledgeable about the castle and the grounds! A beautiful place to vist. I took my two year old and he loved it. Thought is was amazing. There are tours available if you just ask to be shown around. And very well priced!
  • A do not miss when in Loveland. An amazing place next to the Little Miami River. We have has many family outings over the years and having the pleasure of meeting Harry amd speaking with them in the 80s before most people even knew about this awesome place. Great for adults and kids alike!
  • Took over 50 years to build by one man who worked on it until his death at 91. Self guiding tour with lots to read and a documentary to watch. Took a picnic lunch and ate below the castle by the Miami river. Went in October so the castle inside and out was cool. With $5 entry price this is awesome for those who can appreciate this kind of experience.
  • Very interesting gem in this area. Amazing story behind this that you definitely need to ask the Knights while you're in there. Steep, narrow stairways in certain areas which can be difficult. Low admission price and plan to return with the kids- I think they will love it!
