In 54 hectares (134 acres) of natural setting, Louisville Zoo houses 1,700 different mammals, reptiles, amphibians, birds, fish, and invertebrates. This zoo was one of the first ones in the world to introduce rotating exhibits--where animals are moved throughout different habitats in order to have a better quality of life. Stroll through themed exhibits, such as a gorilla forest and a glacier town. See rare animals, such as an albino alligator. Take a train ride, or climb and balance on ropes above the zoo at an attraction for children and families. You can also interact with the zookeepers and learn about the animals. • Wonderful zoo, nice biodiversity and habitats. Staff leave something to be desired. Also, no lids for fountain drinks. I imagine this is to minimize littering, but still unfortunate. Would like better variety of food options. One corner of the zoo has a bbq-like smokehouse, another has a gourmet burger stop, and the restaurant with most choices is right next to the entrance. Not ideal for folks with picky children. Still, best zoo I've been to.
  • First time at the zoo! Great experience. The bird show was wonderful! Nice layout with short walks between exhibits and the prices are fair.
  • I enjoyed their wildlife exhibits, they are making them more natural so the animals are actually happy there! The food in the restaurants are more reasonably prices, the the employees are very friendly and helpful, they have a system there I would like to learn!
  • Great zoo with lots of different animals. I personally know a lot of the employees there and they're very nice and caring about guests and the animals there. I volunteered at this zoo for a few years also and saw what hard work gets put into feeding, caring for, and entertaining (enriching) the lives of the animals. Love this zoo!
  • Took my 3 kids and my wife. Was very pleased overall. The animals and trainers were very prevalent throughout the park and were eager to answer any questions we had. We even got a special demonstration at the elephant exhibit. I enjoyed just as much as my kids.
