Where to stay in Louisville

Old Town has a number of atmospheric hotels close to the city’s main attractions, while hotels in the Highlands neighborhood offer proximity to the city’s most unusual bars, restaurants, and stores. Louisville’s collection of bed and breakfasts, generally farther from town, are a great way to experience some warm Kentucky hospitality. To save some money and enjoy the city’s scenic surroundings on a vacation in Louisville, consider one of Louisville’s campgrounds. The Jefferson Memorial Forest is just 24 km (15 mi) south of downtown.

  • By chance was there during the 2017 Color Run! How col was that? We ate at Joe's Crab Shack and walked the river walk. A few homeless folk but they were nice one set even had caught some big ole fish!...  more »

  • Lovely place to take a stroll. You can rent bikes at the bike station and take it along the water front or in the park. There are benches under the trees. A place of tranquility. Enjoyed the visit.  more »

  • Great park on the shore of Ohio River. Quite peaceful and a good place for outdoor activities for both, adults and kids. The parking is free and there is a children's play area just as you enter the place. There are tracks for cycling and trails. Beautiful views of two bridges on either side - I-64 on one side and I-65 on another. When we went there were people with their kids learning cycling or playing on their own in the play area. There were people jogging or just having a leisure walk along the trail. There were a couple of adults playing various outdoor games. Some of the trees are perfectly apart to tie a hammock and relax reading your favorite book. There are benches and large swings where you can sit back and enjoy the view. Overall, a great place to be if you want to take a moment off from the busy life and enjoy the nature for a while.
  • Some of the park is nice but the real waterfront trail looks like a darn flood hit it. It was dirty, had debris on it and looked like it had basically been flooded and no one has cleaned it up. It really seems just like a park for locals to host events at and picnics not much for tourists but some photos. I liked that one part had some swings and a connection to the big four bridge, which is something great for tourists.
  • It's a beautiful place for anyone to visit - whether for prom pictures or just to enjoy a beautiful sunset. You definitely won't be disappointed... 😃
  • Great place to spend the day relaxing and having fun. Bring the kids, bring the family, or just spend a day to yourself. Go shopping, walk the bridge, bike rentals, segway tours, park and playground, swings in the park. Plenty for anyone and everyone to do here.
  • Very beautiful scenery, 4 different parks, water place for the kids to swim or simply run through the water, sand box and plenty of space to explore the downtown scenery!!!
