Louisville Slugger Field, Louisville

4.7
#3 of 19 in Sightseeing in Louisville
Tourist Spot Arena / Stadium
Named after a baseball bat with origins in this city, Louisville Slugger Field is home to the minor league club team the Louisville Bats. Opened in 2000 with seating for over 13,000 visitors, the stadium features a continuous concourse around the field, extensive press facilities, and a children's play area. You enter the ballpark through a restored train shed--a railroad warehouse the architects incorporated into their designs for the modern stadium. Stop by for one of the club's home games, or join a behind-the-scenes tour to see the ballpark's dugouts, press boxes, and locker rooms. Reserve your tour spot by phone at least one week in advance. • Had a great time at the ballpark. We had seats in section 215 behind home plate in the club level. Great seats. Padded roomy and very comfortable. Easy access to the club bar which served great drinks...  more »
  • Extremely clean. Great views from all seats! Very affordable tickets and dollar drafts on Thursdays (until 7).  more »
  • This is where they previously made farm machinery. They made a beautiful Baseball Park which is one of the top 10 Ball Parks in the United States.  more »

  • Not a baseball fan but I had fun. Mostly spent my time eating Carnival Food. Definitely a fun experience for kids. And the bats games and not expensive at all so look into getting the kids club passes.
  • This is by far, my favorite place in all of Louisville to be. I am from Chicago originally, so the Cubs games were my home away from home... The Bats are my team here, and Slugger Field makes me feel at home. The pork chop sandwich in center field is a must, and don't forget kizito cookies when you get a sweet tooth.
  • Great view! Amazing food! Wonderful experience! Louisville Slugger Field is my favorite baseball park. Everytime I go, I have the best experience possible.
  • Fantastic place to watch a game at. The food and drink prices are very reasonable with a great selection. Across the Grain brewery is fantastic pre game spot which is connected to the field. Great location in Louisville with several things to do no matter what the age group is
  • This is a very comfortable place with a great evening view of the bridges over the Ohio River, and of traffic on several highways (beyond audible range.) It's a great place to visit old friend and meet new ones even when the Bats lose.

Where to stay in Louisville

Old Town has a number of atmospheric hotels close to the city’s main attractions, while hotels in the Highlands neighborhood offer proximity to the city’s most unusual bars, restaurants, and stores. Louisville’s collection of bed and breakfasts, generally farther from town, are a great way to experience some warm Kentucky hospitality. To save some money and enjoy the city’s scenic surroundings on a vacation in Louisville, consider one of Louisville’s campgrounds. The Jefferson Memorial Forest is just 24 km (15 mi) south of downtown.
