  • We stopped here with our kids to kill some time and it was well worth it. The price price was not too expensive and almost everything is hands on.  more »
  • The museum is a pretty good bargain at ~$20 for entry with a movie. The only down side to the 5+ hours we spent there was that some of the displays were a bit tired (or even out of order). Kids ages 1...  more »
  • We took our 4-year old grandchild here. There was so much to do that we will have to revisit. The hands on exhibits were kept in working order and provided student-centered learning.  more »

  • Fantastic. Three levels, and plenty for kids of all ages. There's a great "tot" area, my 1 year old loved it, my 3 year old enjoyed it.to.play with her sister and she loved the dress up area. It was very busy but still plenty of space to move around. The demo was fun and everyone was able to participate. My 3 year old talked about electricity the whole way home. The museum was clean, prices were reasonable (26 $ for two adults and two kids 3 and under). The staff was friendly and easily identifiable.
  • Kids Love this place! There is so much to do and see there it can take up your entire day and more! I really recommend the family pass deal as you will quickly earn this back in at least two visits. The staff was on point and very friendly with the kids but not overbearing. Last recommendation is to take a cooler or backpack of food because their eating area has Subway only and its expensive if you have a large group or need snacks for your kiddos.
  • One of my favorite places to take young grandchildren. The younger ones can spend their entire visit in the area for little ones. They can run and play or cuddle up in the cubbyhole back in the children’s store and I can read them a book. Take the 8 year old and we have a completely different area to visit. I find that any age can find wonderful things to enjoy.
  • The science center is an absolute treasure here in Louisville. Many floors of interactive and fun activities that never get old. The staff is wonderful, always there when you need them, for whatever reason, and friendly as ever. The IMAX theater is amazing, 4 stories of big screen wonder brings everything to life. It's especially great to take little ones to on a rainy or cold day to get out and blow off energy. A plus plus
  • I took my 3 and 2 year old boys to the science museum this past weekend. I was initially concerned about the kids being to young to enjoy themselves, but I couldn’t have been more wrong. They were begging to go back before we even left. They enjoyed all the exhibits, and they had a great set up for young children. I will definitely bring them back again when visiting that area. Keep up the good work - Science Rocks!

Where to stay in Louisville

Old Town has a number of atmospheric hotels close to the city’s main attractions, while hotels in the Highlands neighborhood offer proximity to the city’s most unusual bars, restaurants, and stores. Louisville’s collection of bed and breakfasts, generally farther from town, are a great way to experience some warm Kentucky hospitality. To save some money and enjoy the city’s scenic surroundings on a vacation in Louisville, consider one of Louisville’s campgrounds. The Jefferson Memorial Forest is just 24 km (15 mi) south of downtown.
