  • This is a great place to visit when in Louisville. It is rich in history and iconic in the horse racing world. It is kid friendly -- there's a museum that they will really enjoy. It has hands-on items and mock races, as well as a short movie and epic souvenir shop, especially if you need a fancy hat. Food and drinks can be pricey, but it is totally doable on a budget if you plan ahead and avoid the tourist-trap type things. Go on any tour, however -- if you're interested in the Kentucky Derby at all, it is worth your time.
  • Really a great tour of a place you've seen on tv all your life. I highly recommend the "Behind the Scenes Walking Tour". You get to tour the millionaire's row, jockey locker room, paddock area and see the tunnel the horses walk out onto the track through on Derby Day. You can take all the pictures you want and really get a great up close view of this historic track.
  • Currently under major construction while we visited in March 2018, they still were offering behind the scene tours sharing the history experienced at Churchill Downs. It was an amazing tour to experience and everyone walked away with learning something new. Highly recommended. Kid friendly. Wheelchair accessible and friendly
  • We went to the museum and the 1/2-hour walking tour at Churchill Downs. This was a great exhibit and tour. My only regret was that I didn't spend the extra money on the longer stable tour (maybe next time). I loved touring the historic buildings.
  • Very interesting! The only reason I didn't give it a 5 star was because of all the construction, which in the long run will make it even better. Our tour guide was very knowledgable and made sure everyone in the group could understand him.
