Where to stay in Louisville

Old Town has a number of atmospheric hotels close to the city’s main attractions, while hotels in the Highlands neighborhood offer proximity to the city’s most unusual bars, restaurants, and stores. Louisville’s collection of bed and breakfasts, generally farther from town, are a great way to experience some warm Kentucky hospitality. To save some money and enjoy the city’s scenic surroundings on a vacation in Louisville, consider one of Louisville’s campgrounds. The Jefferson Memorial Forest is just 24 km (15 mi) south of downtown.

  • Once the new trees lining the road and walking path mature it should be nice. There's a lot of open area and several pavilions- great for picnicking. However, our summers are brutal. Without a lot of ...  more »

  • This park is located at the Parklands, which is an amazing park system in and of itself. Beckley Creek Park is a splash pad connected to a playground. I'd say the park features are most suited for kids up to age 10, give or take. That being said, my 9 and 12 year old nephews didn't find it too exciting after a few minutes, but my 8 year old niece did. There are picnic tables with an awning on both sides of the park, making it nice for parents to relax in the shade. As a bonus, Steel City Pops makes a regular appearance.
  • What a great public asset! Plenty of room to roam and an almost endless supply of area to explore. A family could spend a whole day here and not get bored.
  • This is one of the best parks in Louisville, hands down. It's always clean, including the bathrooms, which is hard to find these days. Beckley Creek Park is donor supported, please become a donor today and help keep this area beautiful for years to come!
  • This was my first time visiting this park, and it was great! There is so much to do, like walk, jog, or bike along the miles of path that goes through nice scenery, or hiking trails, open sports fields, as well as canoeing/kayaking! I look forward to returning.
  • This is one of the best parks in the city for birdwatching due to the wide variety of habitats available in a small area. I personally have seen around seventy species here. Arrive early.
