Universal Studios Hollywood, Los Angeles

(4.3/5 based on 24,000+ reviews on the web)
For an ultimate Hollywood experience, visit Universal Studios Hollywood, a film studio, theme park, and a self-contained city all its own. One of the oldest Hollywood studios still in use, this show business complex considers itself "the entertainment capital of Los Angeles." Originally created to offer tours of real film studios, sets, and sound stages, the complex now offers live shows, thrill rides, and behind-the-scenes presentations about the movie-making process. To see the highlights, take a tram tour of the sound stages and sets designed specifically for some of the studio's biggest blockbusters. You can also choose from indoor and outdoor roller-coaster rides that provide you the chance to face King Kong, a shark attack, dinosaurs, and a powerful earthquake. • Disneyland is tired, Universal kills it. Plan to spend a full day, buy the front of line pass and enjoy.  more »
  • Very nice off season. No need to first line pass, a day is more than enough to do without running. Attention most of the attractions are immersive and dynamic projections of mini movies. This is not a six flags we must remember. The entrance is exaggerated for more modest budgets, especially if you go during peak... Good luck. A very good day despite the price.

  • I think this is the day where I got the most touted during my vacation! The new Harry Potter attraction is just breathtaking, the scenery of the Park are awesome... Disneyland has nothing to do with this park! I would gladly!

  • Aww man this park is awesome. I haven't been in over 10 years and forgot that for the price you pay you get to part of some amazing attractions like Hogwarts and The mummy. Plus you can buy beer. The new features in the tram ride are AWESOME. they really live up to their motto. The Entertainment Capital of the World.
  • Just went this week and my whole family loved it. The Harry Potter section was so well done and the staff was all in character! We loved the Forbidden Journey ride and it was great to just wander around the shops. Spent 50% of the time in the HP area and then rode everything else. The Jurassic Park ride was a blast and the Studio Tour was fun as well. One day was plenty of time to take it all in! I would definitely reccomend giving this place a visit!
  • Very good park. Had only been to Universal Orlando prior and was surprised how good it was. Quite a number of lives shows to see as well as good rides. Backlot tour was my personal favourite. The park gets very busy later in the day, I managed to get most of it done before the crowds by getting there as soon as it opened. Single rider is also useful for those visiting alone or done mind being split from their party.
  • I had so much fun, The LA traffic was horrible but being at Universal studios with my family made all of that go away. I loved the Sponge Bob that was there on 10/08/2016 he chased me around the park because I did not want to take a picture finally I gave in. I had to I was laughing so hard I could not run anymore. My entire family had a great time every inch of the park was so exciting. A new adventure awaiting around each corner. This pace needs 10 stars Loved the staff cant wait to go again
  • Lots and lots of fun. It's a bit pricey, especially if you want the front of the line passes. It's very very crowded but I suppose that's good for them. It's a large park with lots of acreage. You get your steps in, my Fitbit showed that I had walked 20k steps and 33 flights of steps. So wear comfortable shoes. There are a lot of food choices. With the town being so vegan friendly I'm surprised there were no vegan options. If you want other food choices you can leave Universal and go to the City Walk where there are numerous sit down and fast food options. I can't think of a bad ride or attraction in the place. It really is so much fun!!! The Harry Potter exhibit was great! There a restaurant there that serves a fanatic breakfast. The butter beer if sweet but tasty. Have fun!!!
