Theme Park Water / Amusement Park
For an ultimate Hollywood experience, visit Universal Studios Hollywood, a film studio, theme park, and a self-contained city all its own. One of the oldest Hollywood studios still in use, this show business complex considers itself "the entertainment capital of Los Angeles." Originally created to offer tours of real film studios, sets, and sound stages, the complex now offers live shows, thrill rides, and behind-the-scenes presentations about the movie-making process. To see the highlights, take a tram tour of the sound stages and sets designed specifically for some of the studio's biggest blockbusters. You can also choose from indoor and outdoor roller-coaster rides that provide you the chance to face King Kong, a shark attack, dinosaurs, and a powerful earthquake. Where to stay in Los Angeles

Los Angeles may be synonymous with luxury, but its accommodations include not only some of the most opulent and expensive hotels in the world, but also budget-priced hostels and inexpensive inns. In Los Angeles, a car opens up a world of lodging options, allowing you to stay outside the city proper and still have easy access to most major tourist attractions. If you don't mind splurging, consider Hollywood or Beverly Hills. To save money, stay near the airport or in the eastern suburbs of the city.

  • We went on Monday and the crowd was not bad. We went to Harry Potter first as was suggested by others, then scheduled the rest of the attractions. Make sure you get the schedule of the day and ask you...  more »
  • It may not have as much stuff as other amusement parks but definitely enough to keep you entertained for the day- or two or three. Nice to have the Universal City Walk right outside and the attention ...  more »

  • Amazing rides and experience. The lines were quite long, some up to an hour, but I didn't mind too much because this is a popular attraction, plus the actual ride was absolutely, without a doubt, worth it. Food and snacks tasted nice. Service was good as well. I would recommend for anybody to come visit you. It'll really make you feel like you spent your day well!
  • Amazing place. I had a great time with my family and would highly recommend. Worth the price and VIP passes made it even better! The rides were amazing, and it was one of my best experiences. Completely kid friendly and there are plenty of things for the adults too. I was pleasantly surprised by how good the food was for it's price. I will definitely come here again so expect me to come soon ;)
  • Had an amazing day. Smiled and laughed all day. Only negative was Starbucks staff service. Didn't have to wait hardly only on Harry potter ride. Would recommend spent the whole day here. Salads were good value. All other staff were friendly and welcoming and were in the spirit of the park theme. Thank you.
  • The best place ever. We did this our first stop of our trip to L.A. and was really the best day. We got the front line A pass and we did enjoy the perks of not needing to do the lines at all. The tour is amazing and the park with all it attractions are the best. I enjoyed this more than Disney parks. Really recommended.
  • Finally....after all these years..we made it out here and boy was it very well worth it. Expect prices to be a bit high everywhere in this family oriented park but hey... it's what keeps it all maintained and well balanced from courteous employees to good customer service, entertainment, food, facilities, parking etc.. Make this a to do on your bucket list folks. Simpson's ride hands down my best pick.
