The Theatre at Ace Hotel, Los Angeles

Performance · Concert / Show
We're sitting right on top of one of the most remarkable gems in the city — a delicately restored, 1,600-seat movie palace from the 1920s with a three-story, 2,300 square foot grand lobby, an ornate open balcony and mezzanine and a vaulted ceiling with thousands of tiny mirrors that glimmer when lit. The Theatre at Ace Hotel is the literal foundation of Ace Hotel Downtown Los Angeles.

Our loving reanimation of the former flagship movie house of United Artists, The Theatre serves Los Angeles' burgeoning epicenter for art and modern entertainment with a prime setting for a wide array of events — from large-scale concerts to movie premieres, conferences, seminars, symposiums and other performances. Retrofitted with a state-of-the-art digital projection system and cinema sound, an independent, ultramodern live sound system, plus an elaborate contemporary stage lighting system, the Theatre can take on whatever fits within the confines of its dazzling proscenium — a much-need bridge to the exciting future of Downtown Los Angeles.

  • Just go to this venue to see the theater. We went for a movie discussion. I was not prepared for how gorgeous the inside of this theater is. I have never really seen anything like it. It was the...  more »
  • Hahahah. Can't forget how my little sweet pumpkins loved this evening and wished it never ended. Funny right? But that's just the feeling you get when something is soooo amazing  more »
  • I just saw Josh Ritter there - the worst security attitudes and I"ve worked for Private Investigators. No need to be rude when this theatre is better made for screenings and in the Golden Age was for....  more »

  • Beautiful theatre. The architecture is stunning. The layout of this small venue is great. Hospitality to get beverages was somewhat easy. Beverage servers were nice with personality. Dealing with the guest must have been challenging since the several that were in front of me were rude to the server and then had to wait for them to find money to pay. The server was patient and maintained a smile.
  • Vintage cute theatre. Concessions are pretty expensive. It costs $4 for a small bottle of water. It is worth just walking around and enjoying Historic Core DTLA. The theatre is big and the seats are what you expect for an historic place.
  • The first thing I noticed when I arrived was the absolutely beautiful architecture. Balcony and ground level seating had good views of the stage and the seats were comfortable. Snacks and drinks were sold as one walked in. I loved the design as much but not as much as I loved the performance of "Cristo Vive" showing the live and love of Jesus Christ. Very good.
  • Love this venue but taking one star away for the steep incline and no handrails in the balcony. We will be getting floor seats next time! Having a few drinks on the rooftop bar was a nice touch. We parked across the street for $12.
  • Myself and my wife visited the hotel for the second time, and this time was for a concert we came to see RY X and the concert venue is magical the seating is perfect and the design and architecture will leave your eyes wondering around looking for the details all around. If you visit for a concert venue expect expensive drink prices plus not many options on snacks I would eat before at the roof top bar or after make reservations of course Enjoy
