The Original Farmers Market, Los Angeles

(4.4/5 based on 1,400+ reviews on the web)
Over 100 vendors sell a wide variety of cuisines from around the world at The Original Farmers Market. What's now an outdoor market started as a place for a few local farmers to sell their produce from their trucks during the Depression. The farmers' market quickly transformed into the massive permanent outdoor market that still stands in the same place. While there are no longer any actual farmers selling produce, the market has retained the original feel by prohibiting big chains, and keeping vendors local. • This market is a foodie wonder, with flavours from everywhere, and such a great range of marvellous food, mostly freshly prepared often before your eyes. Londoners think of Borough Market.
  • is the municipal market of Los Angeles. There's plenty of food and many interesting souvenirs there. Parking is expensive, go prepared.

  • Farmers Market is a fantastic way to spend a Sunday in LA. It's full of different eateries selling a vast array of produce at rock bottom prices. Right next to Farmers Market is the Grove , which is b...  more »

  • Love it here. Its LA in so many ways. It got the trendy new places that people are talking about. and its got its fare share of original non chain places that have a distinct flavor and story of their own. I come by when I can and you will too if you give it a chance.
  • One is Los Angeles's most iconic places, feeling like it must have in the 1930s. Charming to stroll and full of great food from Argentinian to Russian and everything in-between. Validated parking. Next to the massive Grove shopping center, but far more charming and truly LA. You'll love it.
  • We enjoyed walking around this historic location. Lots of good food and people watching. Be careful of the parking situation. There lot had a long line so we parked next door in the Grove shopping center. We got our first two hours covered on a voucher in the store, but the next two hours cost $9.00. Makes for an expensive hang out!
  • This place is a ton of fun. Parking is not fun though 😬. Plenty of places to have a meal at . Place a great selection of fresh meats and produce. Very LA and it is expensive Great for group of friends everybody can choose your own menu.
  • Love this farmer's market! The selection of produce and products are what you would expect but what throws this place over the top are the wonderful restaurants you can visit from amazing crepes to delicious Mexican food. The very pleasant and smiling staff is always ready to bus tables to make sure everyone can find a clean place to enjoy their food. No complaints here! We really enjoyed out visit! :)
