Over 100 vendors sell a wide variety of cuisines from around the world at The Original Farmers Market. What's now an outdoor market started as a place for a few local farmers to sell their produce from their trucks during the Depression. The farmers' market quickly transformed into the massive permanent outdoor market that still stands in the same place. While there are no longer any actual farmers selling produce, the market has retained the original feel by prohibiting big chains, and keeping vendors local. • Yes there were some nice produce on sale but mostly restaurants with overpriced menus. Sure there was quite a bit of variety but overall we found the experience underwhelming and the food mediocre.  more »
  • This spot is fun sort of a farmers market but really an interesting food court. A diverse selection of shops and restaurants. We had food at The Gumbo Pot, killer Po Boys!!!  more »
  • I have been here a number of times in my life but not for around 20 years. The "market" is now much more of a food court than a seller of produce and fresh food. It is a great place to meet for lunch,...  more »

  • Food there is very good but most places only accept cash, which is bad for international travelers, parking is expensive but if you eat they give you some free parking time.
  • Spent many an evening here with my brother. Loved the Farmers market and the choice of foods is amazing and the shops. The tram. Lovely spot for your visit to LA. Recommended
  • I love this place, in almost 60 years this place has barely changed. I love the atmosphere and the restaurants and shopping are wonderful. I think the Farmers market will always be one of my most beloved places to visit.
  • Great place to eat with so many options available. I wish I had more time there then but the tour had to go on. As I'm going to spend some days back in Los Angeles next month, I look forward to going back. Yummo!
  • Great time wandering around. Fun to go in and out of the different unique shops. Great place to visit
