  • Maybe because I always thought it housed a much bigger collection, maybe because it was right next to the newly opened Broad. It was a nice but not a wow experience. However, if you can coordinate bet...  more »

  • Everytime I come to LA I go check out what's happening at the MOCA. It's not a huge Museum but big enough to spend a few hours in if you enjoy looking at art. The museum is divided into two sections, the modern and contemporary art. I come specifically to see what's showing in their fully rotating contemporary arts gallery. I've seen some great exhibits there. I definitely recommend the MOCA if you're curious about what artists are currently up to (plus a few years back, I've seen Warhol exhibits here too). Great stuff, I always leave inspired.
  • This is a must-see in Los Angeles. The museum has an incredible range of heart and its exhibitions are world renowned. If your a resident or if you're visiting from out of town this is a place you need to go. It's free to visit on Thursday after 5 o'clock. But if you do try to make a contribution. When you're in the museum ask to be on one of the guided tours. The docents are amazing at their Wrath of knowledge and how they make the group Interactive.
  • The Museum is pretty cool. It is small and concise. It focuses on Black people and most of the art is of literal black people(not even brown). I didn't like how repeative the arts were. However I'm the type of person who doesn't appreciate art at all. Kind of Ironic given that I just took AP Art History last year and passed the class.
  • We visited this place on short notice, very beautiful with the unique lamp posts which we took many photos, and also appreciated the PAGE museum which dug into history (pun intended) cost us around $10 each! Super nice and brings back great memories
  • It is ok. The art was kind of odd at times. Not bad for the price. Plus the other half of the gallery was under construction. However they gave us tickets to come back. Update: full gallery is now open.

Where to stay in Los Angeles

Los Angeles may be synonymous with luxury, but its accommodations include not only some of the most opulent and expensive hotels in the world, but also budget-priced hostels and inexpensive inns. In Los Angeles, a car opens up a world of lodging options, allowing you to stay outside the city proper and still have easy access to most major tourist attractions. If you don't mind splurging, consider Hollywood or Beverly Hills. To save money, stay near the airport or in the eastern suburbs of the city.
