  • We took our daughter to LA to celebrate her HS graduation. Since she's an artist, we'd planned to go to the Getty, but it was closed on a Monday. So we went to MOCA, which turned out to be fabulous. T...  more »

  • Everytime I come to LA I go check out what's happening at the MOCA. It's not a huge Museum but big enough to spend a few hours in if you enjoy looking at art. The museum is divided into two sections, the modern and contemporary art. I come specifically to see what's showing in their fully rotating contemporary arts gallery. I've seen some great exhibits there. I definitely recommend the MOCA if you're curious about what artists are currently up to (plus a few years back, I've seen Warhol exhibits here too). Great stuff, I always leave inspired.
  • This is a must-see in Los Angeles. The museum has an incredible range of heart and its exhibitions are world renowned. If your a resident or if you're visiting from out of town this is a place you need to go. It's free to visit on Thursday after 5 o'clock. But if you do try to make a contribution. When you're in the museum ask to be on one of the guided tours. The docents are amazing at their Wrath of knowledge and how they make the group Interactive.
  • It is ok. The art was kind of odd at times. Not bad for the price. Plus the other half of the gallery was under construction. However they gave us tickets to come back. Update: full gallery is now open.
  • Although comparably small from all the other nearby museums, this place has a lot to offer. I usually come here for special exhibits and they usually have great collections. Plus, the same tickets can get you to LACMA if you have time. They also have free days with Wells Fargo's sponsorship, so make sure to check it out. The gift shop is upstairs and you can find many interesting artifacts and books.
  • Great Museum, with a great permanent collection and a great exhibition.. The cafe is a nice bonus. People who work there are great as well.
