Built around the old LA Farmers' Market, The Grove has become one of Los Angeles' most popular outdoor malls. Built in 2002, the open-space mall carries a wide range of products and eateries popular with locals and tourists alike. Check out the Farmers' Market, which originally opened in 1934 and still contains over 100 eateries and grocery stores. If you're looking for a healthy treat, you will find plenty of organic and gluten-free food. The mall also contains a large multiplex cinema as well as many flagship stores. Make sure to take a ride on the old-fashioned tram that carries passengers between the market and the main mall complex. Where to stay in Los Angeles

Los Angeles may be synonymous with luxury, but its accommodations include not only some of the most opulent and expensive hotels in the world, but also budget-priced hostels and inexpensive inns. In Los Angeles, a car opens up a world of lodging options, allowing you to stay outside the city proper and still have easy access to most major tourist attractions. If you don't mind splurging, consider Hollywood or Beverly Hills. To save money, stay near the airport or in the eastern suburbs of the city.

  • Outdoor mall with a good variety of shops. Clothing, candy, kitchenware, an entire farmer's market with food and Lil French shop, and live performances. Can get busy as far as parking and foot traffic so make reservations if you can but there is something for everyone. Sometimes people chill on the small lawn by the large fountain and watch the performances.
  • I've grown up going to the farmers market, when the grove was added I was excited to have a movie theater and mall with beautiful architecture added near by my favorite Los Angeles landmark. Recently many of the original stores have changed and the atmosphere seems to have shifted. It's just not the same place. I love the architecture and it's a nice place for a date but I wouldn't go as often as I used to.
  • Amazing experience here. Last time we went they had a free concert! And they actually had staff handing out blankets so people could lounge in the park area and listen to the great music. It was an amazing local cover band. I cant think of their name sorry. But ya all the shops are classy and it's a great spot for date night
  • This is a small, but very entertaining outdoor mall. The Grove really changed quality of malls in the Los Angeles Angeles area with premium assigned seating theatre. Nordstrom was a good choice for a singular anchor mall considering the target clientele. Trolley might be gimmicky, but it is a nice distraction. Finally the advantages of being connected to the Farmers Market are innumerable for choice food and atmosphere.
  • Love love love the Grove! It's got an amazing farmers market. And the shopping is always amazing. Having a theater and lots of outdoor space is always a plus. It's especially pretty during the holidays, though the crowds tend to get big during the weekends.
