The Grove, Los Angeles
(4.4/5 based on 1,500+ reviews on the web)
Built around the old LA Farmers' Market, The Grove has become one of Los Angeles' most popular outdoor malls. Built in 2002, the open-space mall carries a wide range of products and eateries popular with locals and tourists alike. Check out the Farmers' Market, which originally opened in 1934 and still contains over 100 eateries and grocery stores. If you're looking for a healthy treat, you will find plenty of organic and gluten-free food. The mall also contains a large multiplex cinema as well as many flagship stores. Make sure to take a ride on the old-fashioned tram that carries passengers between the market and the main mall complex. Plan to visit The Grove during your Los Angeles vacation using our convenient Los Angeles vacation planner.

  • If you're the type who likes to enjoy beautiful places, don't miss this attraction, it's free. Sound wonderful atmosphere, an artificial lawn with towels to take advantage of a break in the evening. I just got sad for having had little time to enjoy! Annex to the farm market that has places to eat etc. There we ate like a crepe, good and cheap, very sick! And for dessert, if you like, enjoy the doughnut's!

  • Some great shops- a few restaurants and a huge theater. Great people watching. And the most awesome farmers market~ all types of food, fresh meat, fresh fish, fruit, juice bar, candy, and live music o...  more »
  • We did not venture too far into the area because it looked like every other area. We stopped at a bar instead we can shop at these stores anywhere.

  • Magical! I love The Grove. It is the most exquisite and beautiful shopping center I've seen, except for The Americana at Brand (same company). It's outdoors, with the buildings encircling a grassy area with a fountain and pond, and tracks for a trolley that goes around the shopping area. It feels so old timey with the trolley and modern with the sleek shops all at once. They hold many events in the main area throughout the area, oftentimes with celebrities! They also offer towels for laying out on the grass. I love it! Best shopping center ever.
  • Everyone knows that The Grove is a great shopping destination. But when you're looking for a great place to take the kids for some fun holiday themed pictures, there is no better place! We took our little one there this weekend, and in spite of the drizzle (yes, that rare LA occurrence) he had an amazing time posing with Halloween themed scenes located throughout the center. There must have been at least a dozen scenes with Halloween scenes with bales of hay and pumpkins so there was no waiting and ample time to get super cute photos. Truly, no better place to head for a very photo opp rich environment around all of the holidays!
  • The Grove always makes for a fun evening of shopping, eating and just plain chilling L.A style! If you have time, take the trolley tour... provided it is a quick one (10 minutes) but its still cool.
  • This is a really nice mall place to spend the day/afternoon. The place is most of the time packed with local visitors and tourist, I've been going to The Grove for over 14 years since a friend of mine took me to enjoy come Crepes with Coffee at the Farmers Market nearby. The are plenty of shops ranging from Fashion to Tech accessories, they are really nice places to eat at different budgets, if you feel like catching the most recent blockbuster movie, there is a movie theater with more than 10 screening rooms. There is convenient valet parking or if you are feeling adventurous you can try to find parking yourself which can be a task of couple of minutes due to high demand of visitors of this place. There is also a Barnes and Noble which is my favorite place to kill couple of hours reading while enjoying a cup of joe.
  • If you love a highly refined commercial corporate shopping experience, this place will make you happy. All of the attractive, wealthy people, wearing all of their attractive, new clothes, all of the lovely upscale restaurants, none of the so readily available negative elements of the city anywhere to be seen. However, I do not love that experience. Therefore I give it two stars, but that's just me. Anyone else would probably give it five stars because it has all of the right brands. Advice: Never try to take pictures from the roof of their parking garage. That is apparently against the rules, and security will come and very playful he had officially escort you from the property.
