  • I decided to do LA Zoo over San Diego Zoo because of price. The entry to the zoo was US$12.00 which is inexpensive once you are inside and see the amount of enclosures they have. I spent most of the day wondering around all the enclosures and towards closing, I still had not seen all the animals. The souvenirs are reasonably priced and the overall atmosphere is great. The layout was quiet easy to follow and the availability of the service train was great when you needed to get to the other side of the zoo quickly.
  • A great adventure for families or individuals. The terrain is good for walking, not hard to push a stroller around. Best to go on overcoat days, more animals are out & about. Have good choices for eats & drinks, staff are friendly & helpful. Animal caretakers are also friendly & knowledgeable. I feel a real nice deal for the money.
  • This Zoo is perfect for outings with a toddler. If you're not rushed you can leisurely walk through the zoo, letting your little one stop and sit on the low benches or climb on the rocks. We spend two hours here and try and arrive by 11 am to catch the zoo keepers feeding animals. All the feeding seems to be complete by 12:30. We love the monkeys, giraffes and the rain forest habitat with the aquarium and sea otters. Bring snacks since its mostly fast food in the park.
  • Family fun for everyone. Plus the fixed the tram system so you can purchase a ticket from ANY STOP! Very nice improvement... They are also adding lots of updates to the zoo which is nice the park nearly completed and has been turned into an awesome little picnic area if the food at the food court isn't your speed
  • Good exercise as the exhibits are spaced apart fairly far from each other. Wish some exhibits were closer to the front of the zoo. Giraffes and otters seem like the happiest animals. Don't go if you're most interested in seeing lions. The lions need more space to roam and are sleeping on 95% of our visits.
