The area near Staples Center really needed improving. And LA Live has achieved that. It's now an area to hang out, eat, see a movie and stay over. Good job.
I went during the evening time and there really wasn't a lot of people in this area besides the locals. Its nice to walk around and see the Staples Center or grab a bite to eat but after that, I was r... read more »
No reason to go to LA live unless you're there for a show. Can be loud and crowded. Lotsa energy. Staples, microsoft grammy and convention center. All the usual tourist shops and many chain-formula re... read more »
Great place in the evening and during special events. Lots of restaurants and clubs offering food and drinks. However, the place seems almost abandoned in the daytime as there are very few people around. There is a 18-lane bowling alley and a 4DX movie theatre as well. I lived in JW Mariott which is a part of the square and so I could visit these places at night time too. It was great!
It's an excellent place to explore around. There are some great restaurants nearby (although they can be somewhat expensive). There is also a 4DX Theater, which I highly recommend going to when you can. All of this is right near the Staples Center, and there is easy access to the Pico Station nearby. Overall Great.
Love the hotel. It's so nice inside, the rooms have kitchens, the sheets are always fresh, and there are balconeys. The walk is great for the Grammy Museum and the Staples Center. I would highly recommend this area!!
If you can get over the horrible parking of Downtown LA, this complex has a great variety of restaurants and bars. You can't go wrong with eateries such as Yard House and Katsuya. And if you are looking for a bit of fun you can head to Lucky Strike and during the winter ice skating in the quad. The Staples Center also within this behemoth so they have sports and concerts covered as well. It's really a one stop shop but parking is a mess. Would highly recommend taking the metro rail.
A nice plaza that is quite lively before or after a basketball or hockey game, but is not a destination that I would normally visit if I'm not there for a game at Staples Center. The restaurants here are nothing to write home about, though I would still recommend coming here if you've never been before.
