Where to stay in Los Angeles

Los Angeles may be synonymous with luxury, but its accommodations include not only some of the most opulent and expensive hotels in the world, but also budget-priced hostels and inexpensive inns. In Los Angeles, a car opens up a world of lodging options, allowing you to stay outside the city proper and still have easy access to most major tourist attractions. If you don't mind splurging, consider Hollywood or Beverly Hills. To save money, stay near the airport or in the eastern suburbs of the city.

  • We attended a reception while at a conference. Athough we were trapped in a fenced area, we still had to have bag search and go through metal detectors. The food from Wolfgang Puck was reasonable, but...  more »

  • I guess ok. Just don't get the point. A sampling of average restaurants from fast casual to almost fine dining. A pub or two for the sports and convention crowds (love those expense accounts). But if not there for a game or event no reason to go. Too small to be a destination on it's own and nothing close by to justify just stopping by Certainly not a replacement for a real arts district or downtown area just a southern California interpretation
  • There's plenty for everyone to do and see at LA Live! Movie theaters are a draw along with plenty of restaurants. Makes a great destination for a dinner and a movie type of outing. The Staples Center is also a prime destination for sporting and music events along with other performance venues in the complex. Good spots for happy hour before catching a show are Yard House and Tom's Urban...these spots even offer late night happy hours on weeknights and Sunday (call ahead to confirm!). Don't forget there's also the Grammy Museum there as well for fans of music history. Whatever you're into, you're bound to find it at LA Live!
  • Great area! Good place to bring someone and chill. Good, coffee and bowling. Oh, and the theater!
  • Restaurant after Restaurant after Restaurant. It's all about food and drink at LA Live. Make sure you come early if you're going to an event. Restaurants can get packed!!! Reservations recommended.
  • The venues and amenities in L.A. Live are fantastic. I would give it a 5-star if it wasnt for the parking. I had to pay $30 and it took forever to get a spot in the underground garage.
