Hollywood & Highland, Los Angeles

Gift & Specialty Shop Shopping
Shop ‘til you drop at the shopping mecca of Hollywood & Highland, one of the most frequented attractions in the city. The center is home to two theatres--of note is the Dolby Theatre, the host of the annual Academy Awards. Over 70 shops, two nightclubs, several restaurants, a movie theatre, and a bowling alley also call the complex home. The centerpiece of the complex is a massive archway, modeled to be an exact replica of the one seen in the Babylon scene from the movie "Intolerance." Put Hollywood & Highland into our Los Angeles trip generator and find out what's close by, where to stay, and where to head next.

  • There's lots to see and do here. There's a great hotel and the Chinese theatre and the Dolby theatre. Lots of street vendors and walk of fame.  more »

  • WALK Take a good pair of walking shoes. I walked everywhere-it's much easier. Parking is awful. TOURISTS Very busy spot for tourist gazing. Unfortunately, tourists don't watch what they're doing, and will run you down, off the street, into the gutter, where you'll likely meet up with the disenfranchised and homeless, or the hustlers...all very colorful. SHOPPING The mall is on the corner, as the shopping is up and down the street. I walked everywhere-it's much easier. IMPRESSIONS Not the Hollywood, CALIFORNIA I remembered as a child. *Los Angeles is big, grey, city. The only birds I saw were pigeons and the kind that poke through car windows...both very dirty birds.
  • No complaints really. Coffee sucked so if your a coffee person get ready for that. Pool is not heated but that's not a negative for me. Maybe for someone else. I stayed in room 120 which is top floor 3 beds. I feel like the 2 beds are queen and the middle bed was a king and it advertises 3 queens . A plus if it's not my imagination. It's like 8 mins from the universal studios.. the parking is small like very small you kinda have to be a parking pro to maneuver if it has some cars already parked . Over all it was as expected.
  • I only ever visit here when new to California friends want to see the Walk of Fame so I never really visit the mall per say. Parking has always been my main reason to visit and will continue to be. Validation is easy with little shops for coffee, treats of souvenirs all over. The mall is a nice, outdoor mall for all to find something to do. That and its located near dead center of the Walk of Fame.
  • We didn't stay there long. Only went there for parking in the Walk of Fame area as suggested by other travelers. But it's a nice place with cool structures/statues outside along with a good view of the Hollywood sign. Visited April 2015
  • One of the craziest and liveliest malls that I've visited, filled with wonder a great architecture. It reminded my of the movie, "Despicable Me 2" on one mall scene. A plus is that it is connected to the attraction, the Hollywood Walk of Fame which sets the intense cine atmosphere! 💫

Where to stay in Los Angeles

Los Angeles may be synonymous with luxury, but its accommodations include not only some of the most opulent and expensive hotels in the world, but also budget-priced hostels and inexpensive inns. In Los Angeles, a car opens up a world of lodging options, allowing you to stay outside the city proper and still have easy access to most major tourist attractions. If you don't mind splurging, consider Hollywood or Beverly Hills. To save money, stay near the airport or in the eastern suburbs of the city.
