  • The Guitar Center on Sunset Boulevard is a fun stop while you are exploring Los Angeles. They carry a wide variety of musical instruments and music related items. Stop in and check it out.  more »
  • I went, I want to see Bill B ' z. Hollywood & Highland station on foot can be reached in about 15 minutes. Many people walking along the main street, is a safe way. It is recommended In-N-OuBurger, Ralphs (supermarket) in the Middle, so stop by on my way home.

  • I was at GC in Los Angeles: a marvel, the apotheosis of guitar shops. At the entrance, there is the walk of fame of rock stars, featured rock memorabilia, the guitars played by Jimmy Page, Cobain, B.B. King ... in Ecstasy, I was there to gape at the hands of the God Clapton. Within the staff is nice and friendly, you can try any of the many guitars on display. People who play and try on every corner. Unmissable offers. Stratocaster as if it rains, I'd have bought four or five. Indeed, would move my address to GC if I could. A piece of rock history!

  • A music wonderland for current and aspiring musicians. This particular guitar center is incredibly large, with sooo much variety in what they offer. The staff is knowledgeable and helpful, and the atmosphere is very welcoming. All that, coupled with the fact that some of the greatest musicians' signatures are engraved into the front of the store, definitely makes this a place you want to see.
  • I'm not one to normally give a chain store a 5-star review, but this particular Guitar Center is exceptional. The drum room is staffed with the type of products that I'd expect to see at boutique stores, and while most GCs market themselves to the casual musician, this one has professionals in mind. The staff is courteous and actually show appreciation to the people who walk in there knowing what they need (instead of trying to suggestively sell me a bunch of nonsense I neither need or want.)
  • Amazing place and a must visit! It is also a museum, they have pretty interesting and unique pieces of history. The place is big and staff is friendly. The wall of vintage guitars is the best thing I've ever seen
  • It's a must for visitors to Hollywood. It's fun to put your hands to the handprints out front but don't forget to wash your hands. Trying out amps, playing guitars.. all fun stuff. Friendly staff out front. Sometimes they record because we were told to be quiet in the drums section. And, there's parking behind the store.
  • I visited with a friend musician and my experience was very friendly, although I don't come in this type of store too often. I do enjoy the open atmosphere and big rooms in the store. Love to see the multicultural love of music from our society and its presented in here. I love music alot but this is best one I've ever visited in atmosphere. Made me want to get guitar but I been wanting to leartn violin :p

Where to stay in Los Angeles

Los Angeles may be synonymous with luxury, but its accommodations include not only some of the most opulent and expensive hotels in the world, but also budget-priced hostels and inexpensive inns. In Los Angeles, a car opens up a world of lodging options, allowing you to stay outside the city proper and still have easy access to most major tourist attractions. If you don't mind splurging, consider Hollywood or Beverly Hills. To save money, stay near the airport or in the eastern suburbs of the city.
