  • The small caves are in the Bronson Canyon-Griffith Park, being famous for having been used in several films, especially in the old Batman tv show. Another reason to visit is the excellent view of the Hollywood sign with a lot less people around. It's worth the short walk.

  • My actor pal took me to see this modest tunnel that has been used in various TV shows and movies. Downtown Hollywood is surprisingly close, even though you feel like you're in the middle of nowhere. M...  more »

  • I definitely think this place holds much more value with the older sentimental types along with the Movie/TV enthusiasts then it will with people who know what a cave truly is apposed to an old rock quarry. I was reading the reviews from other posts and I'm scratching my head wondering what they're talking about. I was at these so called caves and these aren't real caves at all, more like a man made tunnel used for passage while mining way back when. Nothing about this place looks or feels like it was formed by nature if you pay attention to details as I do. For all the extra time it took to hike down here from the Hollywood sign and then all the way back up to our car at Griffith observatory it was not at all worth it under the false pretense that this was a naturally formed cave that I was lead to believe it was. I'm not implying that you shouldn't come here, or that the surrounding area isn't magnificent I just don't want people to be mislead into thinking it's something it's not. In fact I would recommend coming here just for the experience and the exercise.
  • Great time hiking here with my family! Had a blast visiting Bat Cave too with the nice view at the end. Highly recommend going here for a great hike.
  • Been coming here since I was a kid. Famous for a batcave from the 1960s but basically just a hiking area.Take a pic in front of the cave. Nice trail. Saw three coyotes. Head into Hollywood for a drink after. Nice place to relax away from City buzz.
  • This is a very special place for me, I used to ride my bike here with my buddy and shoot our 22 cal. rifles back in 1948. During the Flash Gordan days. What good memories. There wasn't a home in sight, now look at it
  • Iconic site used for many films and TV commercials. There are no bats in the caves. The popular name "Bat Caves" is based on the use of the site for the 60's TV show Batman as the hidden exit from Batman's headquarters. Current Google photo shows vehicles at the caves most likely for a production. You can not drive to the caves as the photo suggests. Park your car in the lower lot and walk up the unpaved road bed to the caves.

Where to stay in Los Angeles

Los Angeles may be synonymous with luxury, but its accommodations include not only some of the most opulent and expensive hotels in the world, but also budget-priced hostels and inexpensive inns. In Los Angeles, a car opens up a world of lodging options, allowing you to stay outside the city proper and still have easy access to most major tourist attractions. If you don't mind splurging, consider Hollywood or Beverly Hills. To save money, stay near the airport or in the eastern suburbs of the city.
