  • The reputation really precedes Amoeba Music. I'm hard-pressed to say anything that hasn't been stated already in other eloquent reviews. But let me add that you will doubtfully find another record sto...  more »
  • Years ago I had read of Amoeba Music, but never had the opportunity to go to this weekend. Arrive, and as it was to be expected, is surprised. The place is located on the corner of a street, it is sooo big, has two zones, the first is music in all formats (cassette, vinyl, cd, etc) of almost all genres, and is accommodated in sections; array new and discs used. The second is pure video (films, series, cartoons) and that is located on the second floor. In addition to sell t-shirts in groups or movies and some toys I saw out there, and I think that you a lunch box also. Finally, you can find caaaasi all the albums that you can imagine, on that occasion, I bought 3, Down in Albion and The Blinding Ep of Babyshambles and the Black Rebel Motorcycle Club album B.R.M.C. for $13 bucks!. As a tip, looking for the used albums, are new veeeery!. Those 13 dlls would have cost new pure B.R.M.C. disk and but for that price I take three... We will also have to buy new discs now used do not know when it will arrive, however you can look at their website the album of your choice, and there will appear if they have in stock the same but used.

  • Love, love, love this place!!!! Every time I go to L.A. I stop here a couple of times. This is a very large facility. Don't expect to get in and out. We spend hours there and we still don't see everything. There's great vinyl, cd's, 8 track, cassettes, movies, posters, t-shirts, buttons, electronics and so much more!!!!! If you're from out of town they will ship your items home for you. This is a huge help. The shipping is cheap. They don't make anything off of it! It's smart of them to do because we could shop all we wanted to and not worry about our luggage being too heavy or how to get it back. There's lot eating establishments near by so you could take a break and come back. You do have leave big bags or backpacks at the door.
  • Amazing store, gives any music fan a kid in a candy store feeling. Records and such you won't find anywhere else, fair prices and great inventory overall. Good customer service, must visit for any local or tourist.
  • Go there every year for my birthday. I go with a game plan. Walk in door and plan gone. I could be lost for days in there. Love this place
  • Always a fun time looking through the used albums and DVDs. They have a lot of books about the music business. Our scene( punk, goth, glam, metal). They have biography's, ...etc from artists who are in all kinds of different genres of music, mediums,& or photographers too. I could spend a couple hours sitting on the floor reading. THEY HAVE LIVE BANDS TOO/ FREE !!!. 😎
  • If you are a melomaniac, please, reserve yourself hours to enjoy this music paradise. The store is big enough to keep there looking for bargains per hours. It is a classic, an icon. Do not forget to buy one of their classic bags, and to smile to the nice employees.
