  • My kids LOVE Wekiva Island (21 and 24). It’s their ‘go to’ place when friends are visiting or when they just want to have fun! Not necessarily a classy place but an authentic, outdoor, fun place to vi...  more »
  • It's GREAT to sit in an Adirondack chair on the bank of the Wekiva River. Lots of beauty and waterbirds - even an occasional turtle or small alligator. One of the BEST and most extensive beer and wine...  more »
  • We landed in Florida during unusually cold January weather (courtesy of "the Bomb Cyclone"/Polar Vortex) so when we'd read about a "Friday Night Bonfire" at Wekiva Island we incorporated it into an af...  more »

  • We enjoyed ourselves! We rented a canoe (very reasonable prices) and spent an hour on the river. We decided that we'll come back for a longer stint next time. We saw awesome wildlife and fantastic surroundings...turtles, a heron, three alligators. Wonderful! The only drawback was a guy in a canoe paying his boombox WAY to loud on the river....Not really in the spirit of a peaceful canoe trip. The people at the place where you pick up the canoes are nice and helpful. Great day! We'll definitely return. THANK YOU!!
  • We got here in the morning on a Saturday and there were only a few cars parked. We canoed downstream for a few miles and then came back. It was crowded when we got back and there were people waiting to get into the parking lot. We were told that they only allow so many cars at a time so that really helps on the crowds. The river trip was excellent with lots of wildlife. Once back, we had a couple beers. Decent selection but not a craft beer mecca. There were a couple food trucks but we did not partake. It was fun hanging out and meeting people. And the fact that dogs are allowed is awesome. There isn't much in the Orlando area that I can recommend but this place is a winner. If you want peace and quiet get there early. If you want to party and swim and make noise then show up around noon with everyone else.
  • Really a great place. You can come by car and park in Back. I really liked the atmosphere and all the people. The outdoor area is great and the sitting area is fine. Engine was nice and the crowd a was modern looking. I'd come back some again when I have the time. You don't need to spend too much time here' but enough is good.
  • My dog I love Wekiva Island. The best part is that it is a very dog friendly place. You can take them out on the water with you and enjoy the beautiful nature that surrounds you. All the staff are very friendly and welcoming. My dog and I always enjoy ourselves when we take a trip to Wekiva Island. Also, the food is amazing & vegetarian friendly! One of my favorites is the veggie burger. It is absolutely delicious.
  • Wekiva islands is probably one of my favorite places to go in Florida. The launch is very easy and me and the pup can go all the way up to Rock Springs and then back to the Island. Sometimes there is a live band playing and Wekiva Island staff is always kind and give me free ice and water for my trips. There's a food truck style vendor that sells great food, and Cabanas to rent out if there is a large group of people. On a nice day you can probably find at least a hundred people sitting Riverside enjoying the Sun.
