Where to stay in Long Beach

Most of Long Beach's attractions are near the water, so look for accommodations around East Ocean Boulevard. Downtown sits right in this vicinity, so you'll find plenty of rooms in large hotels, many of which have undergone recent and extensive renovations. For quieter environs with convenient access to the beach, look for cottages, houses, and apartments for rent east of downtown. Many of these offer ocean views. Naples Island at the east end of the beach is Long Beach's toniest neighborhood; the prices of accommodations here reflect this.

  • Great ferry leaves from harbor. It is cheap and goes 15 minutes along Long Beach shoreline. You can even bring a bike. Cheap fun quick ride.  more »

  • Visited Shoreline Village while working in the area. I travel for a living and this was by far the best place I have been yet! I ESPECIALLY enjoyed the Smile for the Birdie experience!! Joe and his birds are AMAZING! Joe is totally loving and passionate about his birds and it is obvious the birds enjoy the experience, as well! They are totally friendly and each one has it's own personality! It is more than just a photo, it is an awesome experience to be able to be surrounded by and interact with these exotic birds! They can help anyone overcome their fears and develop a better understanding of the intelligent, loving, social interaction of these very well trained birds that will CERTAINLY leave a SMILE on your face and you will walk away with a photo from an experience that you will ALWAYS remember. PLEASE visit Smile for the Birdie!!
  • It's very beautiful there. Once you've parked you can walk to attractions. Aquarium of Pacific, whale watching and harbor cruises are reasonably priced. Lots of dinner choices also within walking distance. Only downside is there are a lot of skateboarders on walkways as well as an obvious homeless population.
  • Totally a tourist place, feels really good and lively out there! A lot of food places! Very good shops to buy souvenirs at affordable price, gets pretty chill around evening. Live music! You can ride bikes around, great arcade with carousel !
  • Great place for a family outing. There are a variety of places to eat as well as shops and activities. It's also fun to walk around the marina and just hang out. You do have to pay for parking, but many of the places will provide validation.
  • I actually really love this place - the view is pretty and the stores and food options are cute - they have some good restaurants there as well as fast food and lots of dessert options! Perfect for a little stroll and to take visitors there! Nice view of the queen Mary and the light house! Cute place and definitely worth a visit
