This is a sweet, compact museum that often features works of a single artist or style. There is also a permanent collection of American and European art though often not accessible due to temporary in...  more »

It is very relaxing to stroll through this museum. It's is small and "current" exhibits tend to "take over", but it's "our" museum and we are proud of it. The "attached" Clair's is a great place for l...  more »

Great exhibit of Rafael Soriano's art! It was organized chronologically whivh made it easy to observe the artist's evolution. I look forward to coming back for future exhibits. Free admission on Thursday afternoons and Fridays!!

Just commenting on the art (not the food, though the cafe setting looked lovely). Parking lot is free and two spaces down from the museum. Luckily, the AAA rate made admission free (otherwise it is $7 for adults and $6 for kids). The art was nice, but it is a pretty small exhibit, not worth $6-7 per person. Our family of 4 spent probably 30 minutes browsing. Compared to the larger art museums we have been to, this was nice but we'd suggest going to the cafe for the nice view (and in the upstairs of the cafe house, you can see some ceramic art) instead of paying for 4 rooms of art.

I wasn't expecting to see such a fantastic little art museum after strolling the beach. The building is sleek and the art inside is well curated. Definitely worth a stop.

This small museum is an absolute treasure. They rotate the exhibits so there is always something beautiful and interesting. The location is great and they have parking. Of course there's even a gift shop. Some of the recent exhibits have been very provocative. I highly recommend this museum.

Where to stay in Long Beach

Most of Long Beach's attractions are near the water, so look for accommodations around East Ocean Boulevard. Downtown sits right in this vicinity, so you'll find plenty of rooms in large hotels, many of which have undergone recent and extensive renovations. For quieter environs with convenient access to the beach, look for cottages, houses, and apartments for rent east of downtown. Many of these offer ocean views. Naples Island at the east end of the beach is Long Beach's toniest neighborhood; the prices of accommodations here reflect this.
