  • One of my favorite mission. It is located with so much acreage around it that you can hike for miles. It is just like stepping back in time. Very authentic with sheep, cows and horses!  more »
  • I've driven by here many times and have never had time to stop. Today while out for a motorcycle ride I decided to visit the mission. What a treat! Walking around the mission grounds was perfect with ...  more »
  • This may be the best mission to visit. It's not the fanciest, or the biggest chapel, doesn't have the prettiest gardens, but it is out in the country and has a lot of land, along with some animals, so...  more »

  • True feeling of the mission life back in the day. This is not an active church so is more historical than the other 20. Farm animals in pasture, quiet with swallows flying, it was serene. Pay only parking fee and self guide a tour of the site. Beautiful.
  • This has been my favorite of the missions I've visited. It is nestled in hills, and it really feels like one is stepping back in time. It was the most affordable to visit, as well. The day we visited, there were many volunteers dressed in period costumes and hosting demonstrations: tortilla making, brick making, wool spinning, weaving, and candle making. The kids got to experience these hands on. This mission felt like a living museum, rather stale one. Definitely, well-worth the visit!!!
  • Well I was really excited to go here but they apparently have a 4 hour day on Mondays from 10-3 for the museum, pretty bummed drove almost 3 hrs to get here. But the park is pretty cool otherwise. Also hours Tues-Sun 10-4. Need to update times.
  • One of the best of all California missions. Astoundingly accurate restoration work by FDR'S CCC. Really captures the life of the padres, crafters and soldiers who lived and worked here in the 1600s and 1700s.
  • This mission site really shows what it would have been like in the early 1800's, livestock and all. Wonderful glimpse back in history.
