  • Terrible place.... If it's been raining you need 4 wheel drive to get through no gravel on the mud what so ever.. they even come through with a tractor to pick up trash so they know it gets bad.Got there when it was raining and they just sent us down to the campsites and said just pick a site... it was really hard to find one especially when they give you a huge list of ones you can't have... about got stuck several times. By the time we set up site and ate there was a really rowdy loud group... they were loud from 9pm-3am and just keep in mind there quite time is 11pm. Not once were they told to be quite.. the next night same thing but worse and again not told to quite down. When you wanted to take a shower you had to drive a quarter mile up a rd that is not even attached to the river campgrounds. Shower house is only open from 8:30am-10pm and only a total of 4 showers. so pick your time right to go or you could be waiting up to an hour to get a shower.. there were also dead trees all over the place.. That's not good for a campsite that's just a death trap. The campsite down from us even had a tree fall on there car and tent... I was told that they were just in the tent 30 seconds before the tree fell close one right.. It shouldn't be like that the problem needs fixed before some gets killed it's crazy... no organization as people come and go all the time because no one actually monitors the campsites at all... I would not recommend this to any one.
  • As far as the river adventures go, this place has improved 10-fold since last year. Customer service was great- very friendly and organized. It seems like they are trying harder now and it shows. I would say the campgrounds need a bit of work, I was constantly picking up branches on our site. However, great time on the river.
  • First and last time here there is no gravel .If didn't have a awd Subaru I would have been stuck ,not a place for a family .quiet time is 11 well try 330 am when they passed out loud music partying ,I understand about party time camp out but the hocking hills adventures should come through at night in between 11 ,12 to tell people it's quite hour .plus all camp sites muddy mess ,trees down every where and dead trees right on campsites ,unsafe. a tree fell on the tent in the campsite next to ours and probably totaled there car . I don't recommend .update the second night was just a bad .will not recommended or ever go back .go to Mohican campground or a different one in the hocking area or just find a field would of been better for us.
  • Thoroughly enjoyable experience. The staff was friendly and helpful, yet still relaxed and not overbearing. I would recommend giving them a try.
  • Disappointed from the start. Porta pottys are NOT bathrooms. Recommend changing your campground map to say "porta potty" not "bathroom" as this is a HUGE difference and we would NOT have chosen this campground had we known there was NO potable water access or real bathroom, except for the 1/4 mile away at the fun center. Also, splash pad was under construction, another reason we chose this campground. Furthermore, I don't think 5 (yes I said 5) showers are adequate enough to accommodate the amount of guests that can stay at the campground. The advertised sites that have river access were limited to about 2 or 3, and those were reserved, despite the fact that the web page says all sites are all first come first serve. (Which is why we left 3 hours earlier to get here by noon) Hocking hills is a beautiful place and we will have fun rafting, exploring the caves and hills and we will be back. This campground however has been checked off our list of places to stay. On a positive note the lady who checked us in was very pleasant.
