  • Good kayaking experience, we did the short trip, but we aren't regular kayakers so it still seemed a little long, my shoulders and back were burning by the end! The river was very peaceful, it was mos...  read more »
  • Camping along the river is a relaxing experience. We had a comfortable website where we could perch in our chairs and listen to the river flowing softly by, watch the water fowl and simply enjoy the f...  read more »
  • The guy at check in was very helpful when I realized a made a mistake with selecting canoeing at checkout and it was no problem at all for us to kayak instead. There are some rope swings along the riv...  read more »
  • We stayed at the riverside campsites. It was hard picking a site because the views from every site were so beautiful. So peaceful and quiet the whole weekend. I was expecting locker room style showers but I was so surprised to see a full bathroom with a locking door and walk in shower. A private shower at a campsite was an amazing plus! The staff was so friendly. Trash pick up at your site everyday. Couldn't have asked for a better place to camp. Recommending to everyone. Will definitely be camping here every time we're in the area.
  • My wife, dog, and I had planned to go on the Trip #4 overnight trip. We looked at all the details on their website and planned accordingly. We saw that reservations were possible for all the trips, but not required. But to their cancellation policy, must be prepaid in full, and we had a gift certificate we wanted to use, so we did not make a reservation. So we packed everything up and got on the road to be there plenty early for the 4pm start time. I called several hours before the scheduled departure to confirm details...And was informed that even though we wanted just 1 canoe, not a holiday weekend, they weren't fully booked, and that website didn't say....we MUST have a reservation 48 hrs in advance...At first I blamed myself for missing that detail on the website and description, so I came back to double check, and no where does it specify a reservation is mandatory 48 hrs in advance...Thanks guys, thanks
  • Really didn't enjoy my stay at the canoe livery there wasn't anything special, basically just staying in your backyard. The onto access to water was in the showers so be prepared to bring many gallons of water with you for washing your utensils and such. There was no garbage pickup at the sites as described. We ended up leaving 2 days early because the bugs at the campsite were so bad between the swarms of bees and wasps, and mosquitos we simply couldn't take being bit anymore. The sites were also disgusting there was bags of fecal matter in the bushes clearly visible and many many pairs of nasty shoes, beer cans and broken glass so do not bring children that may wander into the nearby sticks and bushes. This isn't a campsite for kids because there is nothing to do its as plain as it gets. The showers were scalding hot and had no airflow which was especially terrible on a 95 degree day, you can't adjust the heat and thank god we didn't bring kids with us because the showers would have most definitely burned them, it's a lawsuit waiting to happen.
  • I didn't expect much from the place because it advertises primitive camping. I like all the staff they were overly nice and accommodating and the grounds were clean. THE ONLY REASON I am giving this a 3 star review because of the canoe trip my trip was ruined by only one thing KEVIN there was some smug dude there named Kevin that was canoeing with his family he was so annoying he kept acting better than his family standing away from them even on the canoe trip he was up front of the canoe with his headphones in making his daughter and his wife paddle. What the heck Kevin get it together man we ran into him AGAIN at the end at the livery they were cooking out again he segregated himself from his family and was sleeping on a picnic table what the heck Kevin you little douche I would suggest to anyone thinking of canoeing here to make certain that no one named Kevin is going on the same trip you are.
  • We've been here (at the riverside campground) 3 times total. We've loved camping by the river the first two times, but this most recent time could have been a disappointment.. The staff, however, made sure that didn't happen. We ended up staying in one of the small cabins the following night, and it was quaint but nice. The manager and workers were all very accommodating, nice, and hard workers. We look forward to making our semi-annual visit again in the future 😀
