William J. Clinton Presidential Library, Little Rock

4.3
William J. Clinton Presidential Library boasts the largest archive of any presidential library in the United States and houses the Clinton Foundation offices. Since its opening in 2004, this center has hosted hundreds of thousands of visitors every year, as well as the students of University of Arkansas Clinton School of Public Service, which is part of the same complex. This is the 13th presidential library in the United States and was entirely privately funded. In addition to photographs, documents, and other texts, this library contains artifacts from the 1993–2001 presidency of William Jefferson Clinton, as well as accurate, life-size replicas of the Oval Office and Cabinet Room as they looked during Clinton's tenure. • Presidential Libraries and Museums offer a strong sense of self worth to the family of our past commander and chiefs, and this one is no different. It would be Clinton who would have his library have a stronger commercial approach, without sacrificing the architecture, which is by no means a bad thing. And yes one does learn a lot about the Clinton family and anything Lewinsky related is noticeably absent.
  • Absolutely stunning 21st century architecture, library, and space. My thanks to the entire staff everywhere we went. 1st. To the staff of the restaurant: We got there 15 minutes before 2pm when it closed. They welcomed us in with no problem. Sat us at a clean table from what had clearly been a busy lunch. The young African-American waiter was the nicest young man- I asked for a "buttery chardonnay" and he picked the right one. I now keep the wine in my home. I tell people "If it's good enough for Bill and Hillary, it's good enough for you." They serve THE best Club Sandwhich in Little Rock. The gift shop is wonderful. Again, the staff was incredibly nice to my father and I. The limo, the Cabinet Room, it is all a fantastic way to spend the afternoon. The short video is worth watching twice. I am told it is modeled after Trinity College, with gigantic bookcases and a stunning view of the river and downtown Little Rock. A truly amazing tour.
  • Just had my third visit here since it opened. i was there on April 5 and as with previous visits, it didn't disappoint. It's a beautiful structure, right on the Arkansas River and so well designed. I was a teenager when he was President he became my hero at a young age so for me, it's like a trip down memory lane and a place I can go and relive my adolescence from the 1990's. The staff is wonderful, and I actually did a guided tour this time and the guides were incredible. It was just so much fun and I learned so much. I love the history of it all and it's great to see so many visitors. The President was there the day I was, he was in town that weekend for events in Little Rock and Hope and so there was a buzz of activity around the building. I mean, if you really hate the Clintons you won't like it, but if you at least appreciate history and his presidency, it's a great place. And it's only $10 to get in.
  • There's so much history in this museum. I always love visiting. Make sure you block off several hours and enjoy the tours. Don't forget to grab a little food while you are here.
  • Very nice and neat Presidential Library and informative. The 42 restaurant had excellent food and reasonably priced. The staff was very friendly.
