Especially known for its mountain biking, it has advanced trails in an area of the park that was once a phosphorus strip mine. The forest has grown back. The mine was abandoned before remediation laws took effect, and the area where mountain biking exists is an erratic mixture of pond depressions and abrupt hills jutting from the surface.References and external links Alafia River State Park at Florida State Parks Alafia River Watershed

  • The bike trails are great. We went on the "easy" trails, not super hard but interesting and challenging. We did experiment on the next level blue trails, our bikes are not meant for that kind of ridin...  read more »
  • Great park trails are pretty clean i did see a few bottles here and there but not clustered together. Amazing bike trails as well as trails for horses. One thing i didnt like i wish the maps and signs would be more clear. U could easly take a wrong turn or get lost if u dont carry a map, the map has a lot of numbers and marks but no description so it can be confusing. Other then that it was amazing wide trails and narrow trails for bikes spent a few hrs hiking and loved it will be coming back for sure. Saw a deer, 3 big turtles and plenty of frogs near ponds. Be ware no entering the river nor ponds they have gators. Had fun tho
  • Amazing bike trails here! Lots of fun for all levels and has walking/hiking trails and a park/picnic area. Love it here!
  • Great park with approx. 20 mi. Of bike trails. Playground. Horse trails. Fishing. Picnic space. Bike wash, tool area, and air pump stations. Could spend an entire day here.
  • O.M.G. it was a great experience for first time campers. it was a great practice run for hurricane season. it has clean bathrooms(you have to walk a little to),electric, and water at your site. all i can say is if your sleeping in a tent bring at least a 40 foot outdoor extension cord with you if you need a fan in the tent and to charge cell phone batteries. something to wash dishes in and a hose(if you don't like to have your knees on the ground). don't forget a canopy during rainy season. but remember this is camping and not a hotel. thank you alafia river state park from melissa j burnett
  • The facilities are super clean! Bike trails are awesome
