  • Ten years in the making (1922-1932), this huge limestone building, nicknamed “Tower on the Plains” for it's one huge, 400-foot tower, which can be seen for 30 miles on clear days. The building also includes over 20+ murals, a Lincoln Monument, and so much ornate detail. When you are in Lincoln, it's certainly worth the visit for so many reasons. Even the bathrooms seem like they're from the 30's. While the ventilation system that was installed 50 years ago was ground-breaking in it's time, a project has started to begin replacing it with a 100+ million dollar version to keep everyone at the proper temperature. Enjoy your visit.
  • Not just a building. Art honoring the native peoples, symbolism, energy and timelessness of mans struggles and triumphs. Almost 60 years of visiting, and I still find new things to appreciate. Don't forget to lie down and look up at the rotunda.
  • Despite the recent controversy over Nebraska's new license plate design, or even the somewhat unimpressive exterior of the capitol building, the Nebraska State Capitol truly is a beautiful sight to take in if you give it a chance. The impressive architecture, beautiful designs on the inside, and the amazing view from the observation tower make this building well worth the visit if you're looking for something to do while visiting Lincoln.
  • The building is amazing. There are some free tour about the history of this place. You should take one if you visit.
  • A very impressive and grand stone building. Not the best Capital building I have seen, but definitely not the worst. I would recommend a stop by for anyone visiting Lincoln.
