  • The best deal on Kauai for golf. We played this the last time we were here and loved it and loved it again. It's a lot of fun with the front side being the less beautiful side with more houses but challenging and the back side with no houses is beautiful and tropical. It's plenty long if you're a bit hitter with whites being 6000 yards. My wife and I really enjoyed it and it was virtually empty when we went. The trades affect the course but not radically but do bring a bit of a wind game. As for price ti was $65 and well worth it so do play it if you're on the island.
  • Puakea is a wonderful, relaxing golf course, with stunning views as a back drop to this well maintained course. For my most recent round, with no advanced reservation, we were on the course and running within 15 minutes. The cost was reduced due to our kama aina discount (have all licenses ready for all parties who live locally). We played the front nine, which had its challenges with water hazards and dog legs, but never felt overwhelming, especially for my wife. The most comforting part of the experience came when the course superintendent cam rolling up to us, and I expected he was going to give me some flack for playing two balls. Instead, he was telling us to slow down and enjoy ourselves, as he saw us speed walking to our ball and our cart. We don't like having those behind us on our backs, but they weren't and we were probably being paranoid, so his recommendation was well received and headed. Definitely recommended for this seeking an enjoyable day or part thereof, golfing on the east side. Mahalo amd namaste
  • The price for locals is very reasonable, tourist pay about twice as much. The course was in great shape, greens included. The staff was very friendly and helpful. It's not a resort course but it's also not a municipal. I play every time I visit Kauai.
  • Ordinary when you arrive, but as beautiful and scenic as advertised into the round. No ocean view, but friendly and fun course to navigate, A must play in kauai. Most reasonable $ of all the course on the island
  • Great little municipal-style course in Lihue. The first few holes are open and flat, which makes you think the entire round will be the same way... but then as you progress, the holes get more and more interesting. My favorite hole (6 I think) was a par three tee shot downhill, over water, onto a small green surrounded by jungle. Challenging, fun, and beautiful! The facilities themselves are reasonable, and there's a friendly staff running the club house. The 9th hole ends next to the club house, so its easy to stop by for a quick drink or snack at the turn. Amazing value, especially when compared with the resort courses. If I had to play a course multiple times on my trip, given the cost and overall experience here, there's no doubt it would be Puakea.
