  • It's a definite MUST play course on the Island of Kauai. Conveniently located near the Lihue Airport. The staff and Pro Shop are a treat. The bar and restaurant are not inexpensive but what really is ...  more »
  • This course has the best views of any on the island - the front nine is under maintenance and opening within November. The back nine is the ocean side - incredible views, challenging course.
  • The new name of the course is Hokuala. It was bought by the Timbers Resort Group and is currently undergoing a renovation on the front 9, so I played the back 9 twice. No problem there as the back 9 i...  more »

  • Yup, They want way too much to play only 9 holes. It's still 9 holes and will be eventually 18 but that seems to be a long way away. If you book book on Hawaii tee times at a much better price. It's fun and the water holes are really nice. There used to be two beautiful golf courses here but this Timber organization ruined that so down to 18. Might be worth playing once when it gets back to 18 but if you think it's expensive now wait till that day.
  • This course has a *LOT* of potential, but when we played it in December 2015 only 9 holes were open and the course condition was rather bad. I believe that Timber resorts has just taken ownership of the resort from Marriott; everything was very newly rebranded from Kauai Lagoons to Hokuala. I'd be willing to play again once everything is open and the new management has a chance to fix it up, but right now the course doesn't live up to its potential. Would be a 2-star review given course conditions, but it's redeeming factors are the extraordinary views and creative layouts of the oceanside holes. Ocean 14 is a par 3 over beautiful cliffs, and Ocean 16 is a blind tee shot down a narrow fairway dangerously sloping to the ocean. Very fun to play, and could be a 4-star course with the right care and maintenance.
  • This course would have got excellent rating. I played late June 2013 and there was no sand in the front 9 bunkers.
  • Moana in Kauai-1 favorite was ❗ ️ (congratulate ▽ congratulate) b
