  • Found some lovely fabric which I made into A "Chinese Lantern" table runner. Wonderful selection especially of Oriental and Batic fabric
  • I have brought clients into the store on several occasions and they always come out really really happy.
  • We were in visiting from the mainland and found this lovely shop to get a taste of local flavor in the fabric world of the island. Very nice selection of bolts, bundles and kits. Worth the time to stop in and browse. And to support the local quilting shops.
  • Of all the fabric stores on this island, you must visit this store if you like to sew, quilt, needlepoint, looking for "Made in Kauai" handicraft souvenir items (towels, aprons, potholders, stuffed toys, bags, totes, etc), Hawaiian and Japanese clothing patterns, Hawaiian quilts and quilt kits to purchase. Prices are reasonable for the selection and quality. If you are crafty, this place will be one of highlights of your visit to Kauai. While the men (or non-sewist or non-quilters) can sit out on the porch in rockers, you can easily spend an hour browsing and getting help from the staff in not a very large store (was a general store at one time). The ladies here are pure "ohana" and are very helpful. They know their inventory and know how to sew! Fabric here is shelved by category and then by color. Kapaia sells a lot of cotton and rayon in Hawaiian, Batik, Asian, and Tropical themes. Some of the fabrics they carry you will not see it at the other fabric stores (definitely not at Wal-mart) on the island. You can also get measured (and pick out the material) for a custom Hawaiian shirt (which will get mailed to you when it's finished). This place can get really crowded during the weekends. Parking is out in front.
  • Had a wonderful time meeting the mother of the owner and the staff. From the cruise ship rode the bus to Walmart... called the store and they came and picked us up. Spent about an hour and some money, and we're allowed to take photos of the beautiful quilts on display. It is well worth the time and effort to go and visit the Aloha life. Mahalo.
