  • I am a regular at this place. It seems very safe for walking. It is great early in the morning or on overcast days. You might have to pay a small fee if you do not live in Lake County.
  • Went for a walk at Independence Grove yesterday, the weather was perfect, the lake was clear and bright. We walked one of the shorter loops, probably about 2 miles or so. There is a lot to recommend t...  read more »

  • Just beautiful! Just breathtaking! Just gorgeous! Never knew about this forest preserve until I came here for a wedding. There's so much you can do including paddle boat rentals. Great place to have a family reunion, gatherings, even a wedding! About 1 hour from Chicago. Plenty of free parking.
  • Beautiful has everything you can ride your bike there from Libertyville Grayslake Gurnee the North Shore excetera plus they have canoeing paddle boating beautiful Trails there etc....
  • Very nice park to walk, bike, and enjoy the outdoors. You can fish, kayak, paddle board, walk, bike, skate, eat, swim, or just relax. It's a very large area where lots of families come for an outing. I love coming here with friends and family. No pets are allowed.
  • Beautifully manicured landscaping, and lots of trails. I rented a kayak and was told I had to wear a life vest. Me being a strong swimmer, and an adult that can make my own decisions, I decided once I got further out to take my vest off. I had some guy come by and remind me I needed to keep my vest on but don't even need to fasten it. For one, most of the water is shallow enough I can touch and see the bottom. Secondly, if I don't have to fasten it, and I did dump my kayak, it's going to come right off anyways, so what's the point?
  • Beautiful park, lots to see, large pond/ lake. Large and exciting play gound, lots of nice trails to walk on and great place to take pictures, have a wedding or just take to family too. We will be back.
