Where to stay in Lexington

Downtown Lexington offers accommodations ranging from budget to luxury, but for easier access to the area's famous horse parks and farms, consider staying just north of the city proper. Many rustic bed and breakfasts on the edge of town offer guests a chance to stay at a farmhouse or log cabin. These properties provide not only every comfort of home, but also much more privacy than a downtown hotelĀ could offer. To avoid driving to Lexington's major urban attractions, consider a hotel near the city's convention center.

  • Cool statues of horses & jockeys, a fountain, and nice quiet little park right in downtown Lexington.  more »
  • Life-like bronze horses and jockeys approaching the finish line at this Thoroughbred Park. Very impressive to see when in the Lexington area.  more »
  • I enjoyed visiting this park on Wednesday afternoon, May 31, 2017. I'd visited a few times before, but this was my longest and most enjoyable visit. The small park includes a nice fountain and numerou...  more »

  • This is a very cool park in downtown Lexington. The bronze statues of horses are really neat to look at and the park features many plaques about various people associated with horse racing of the years. Gives a good taste of the Bluegrass and horse racing!
  • The park is beautiful and they have a lot of Pokestops, which is what attracted my family and me to the park in the first place. They have a playground for children and beautiful fountains, as well as amazing statues. The problem is that it's not safe at all. I had a teenager try to zap me with a stun gun back in the fall. I didn't know him, as I live about 50 miles away, but he walked up behind me really quickly and I thankfully heard the stun gun before he pressed it against my body, so I got away without being shocked. The police came and didn't do anything to this young man. The police said that the judicial system won't punish minors and all they'll do is call their parents to come get them, so the kids know they can get away with anything. The police also said that a group of kids robbed another kid of his cell phone the weekend before this happened to me and nobody was charged with any crime then. We returned to this park over the weekend and found really shady adults hanging out on the playground instead of children. We immediately left and will not return. If you go to this park, be constantly aware of your surroundings, alert, and vigilant. There also were no restrooms, which is a negative for me. Bottom line: this park is dangerous because delinquent youth preys on unsuspecting targets.
  • Small park. Beautiful and well maintained. Take time to walk through and read the placards.
  • Nice monument. No so great for kids. Hard to tell if climbing on statues is ok. Fountain should be open for kid play
  • Loved it on Fathers day walking and reading all the good stuff about the horse farm!!
