  • Part of the charm of Lexington is it's historical significance in the wonderful blend of perspectives and events that shaped America's history. This stop is a must.  more »

  • A compelling insight into the life of one of America's most tragic figures. Jackson was a humble man that was motivated by love and faith, who gave his life fighting for a cause he believed was essential in maintaining the Godliness of the State he loved. A peasant to the Antibellum aristocrats that ran the Southern war effort, Jackson won his rank and fame not because of who he knew or the sum total of his wealth, but by the principles of ingenuity, tactical and strategic brilliance, and uncommon valor that set him apart from his contemporaries and made him a legend.
  • Very thorough tour, interesting background and information on General Jackson, but the house tour was rather short. A grounds walking tour would have been interesting as his garden was mentioned as a special and "modern" (for the time) pastime but not displayed. The house, very well kept, the grounds, not so well.
  • Excellent historical interpreter! Had all our middle school students engaged and asking questions.
  • Amazing recreation of a very old, very important house. Take the tour.
  • Very informative and historically accurate tour. Even some original furnishings! Enjoyed it very much!
